45% performance improvement in rasterized rendering thanks to a larger GPU and faster memory
Hugely improved ray tracing architecture delivering 2-3x speedup on average, with peaks of 4x
Custom machine learning architecture that supports 300 TOPS at 8-bit to power the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling technique, Sony's version of Multi Frame Super Resolution based on the PlayStation Machine Learning (PSML) algorithm.
PSSR is an ML-enhanced version of Temporal Anti-Aliasing Upscaling (TAAU) that requires inputs similar to NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR and fully supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) pipelines. It also does not require per-game training like the latest version of DLSS
Curious about pricing if the rumored GPU equivalent to 7800XT.
more like 7700xt, but ray tracing enabled are pretty much 7900xt/xtx class. finally they have actual raytracing core, no longer general purpose compute based

I just bought emulator on 9/9. initially want ps vita. but no more new ps vita. so, bought emulator. at least it is new and got many games. rm900 gone. lol
will buy this one to replace my very aging PS4 Pro. bought it during first launch in 2017.
the thing always screaming jet engine and it's getting louder by the day LEL
initally want to bought ps5 to replace my xbox360. but scalper price too high. boycott and forgot till now. lol. just bought emulator. okla. can play stupid child game. can see porn as well.
ps games too expensive nowadays, i also don't have the energy to finish any of it including the old ps4 games. end up playing pc version straight up with cheat code enable to finish whole game
Dont forget scalper price since its going to be swooped off the shelves by them. Estimate RM4.5K-5K
maybe, but unlikely, stock should stabilise by now and most people will still stick to their old ps5 since still not many games are taking advantage of the new hardware yet, sony is eyeing for the end of year / chrismas holiday punya present.
Which will translate to at LEAST RM4-6K after import taxes etc.
No fucking way Sony lmao, might as well build a whole gaming PC from scratch with that kinda money.
Consoles were meant to be cheaper alternatives to gaming PCs for casual audiences and Sony has completely lost the plot with this machine kekw.
There are many rumors saying Sony is now desperate for money as Concord bombed hard. It costed them about 200M USD which is very huge sum of money for Sony.
Sony even raise the price of Dualsense controller to $80 recently. They know gamers don't have a lot of option to choose from as Xbox practically dead as a brand and Nintendo is still cooking with Switch 2. Might as well milk consumers to the last drop.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (their gaming division), has a $30B USD revenue and in 2023 made ~$2B USD in profit. 200M is a lot of money, but hardly going to make Sony desperate for cash.
I always stick with base model and never bought pro machine, but I always appreciate the existence of pro as it will make current gen game to have additional graphic setting which hopefully will also be useful on next PS6.

xbox didn't die. Microsoft pushed xbox to pc and cloud gaming with it's gamepass. It's earning sweet profit even after paying for third party game publisher as well as own game studios.
Out of the three major gaming brands, nintendo, xbox and playstation. Playstations seems to fare the worst now, all because they shot their own foot with DEI

many people dont understand that you are not gonna get a similar performing gaming pc for ~4k. its gonna be at least that amount for the gpu alone
not really, the gpu seems to be equivalent to rtx3070 which you can buy for cheap now. Then you can get a cheap 12400f or ryzen 5600 systems
then you need to realize pc system is not just for games, you can do alot more on it than just gaming. Better web surfing experience, arguing on k can type faster, use office apps, do work etc.
and in malaysia even better, pc gamepass so cheap at rm20 only and you get so many games. Then you can also claim free games from epic store without subscribing to anything and you don't need to pay for anything to play online. ps5 also don't have dota the greatest blizzard mmorpg

PS5 disc version was priced RM2500 here officially while in the US using current conversion is only RM2000+.
Bet you this will be RM3300+ thanks to Sony Malaysia, then you need the disc drive which is RM530 totaling RM4000 for a Pro. I'll stick with my fat PS5 tq.
Wanted to buy the ps5 pro but seems everyone is upset over it being without a disc reader. Honestly I been gaming on my Xbox series S and X. Never once needed a disc. Why is having a disc reader so important?

I’ve the og ps5 with a disc reader and I’ve never bought a single disc.
But I’m also upset that Sony didn’t include a disc reader at that price. If they’re going to exclude it, I’m sure it can be slightly cheaper. Maybe priced it at USD 599 - 649 instead ?

The purpose of disc version is you can resell the game after you have completed it.
Still better because exclusive games all Nintendo. For PC almost cross platform even so called exclusive for PS also got PC, but Nintendo unless using emulator to play on PC.
I hardly max out my Xbox memory so that tb is useless to me unless bigger tb better processing power?
Many games take 100-200GB nowadays, some even hit 300GB. So if you are using digital version of PS5, you can only store 10-20 games in the console at once.
There's also an argument to be made that if some assets are decompressed, you will get better framerates as there won't be a need for the console to decompress the file before rendering.

The thing is why is anyone having 20 games in their console? I only play a game, finish it, uninstall. Play another. I don't want bigger memory, I want 60fps 4k. Most games can't do 60fps at 4k, heck most TVs can't too

maybe cause you're the only one playing it?
If its a family console, then sure got multiple games. I myself would easily have at least 5-6 games at any given time cause the games are different genres.
If you want high FPS, PC gaming is the way to go la. Console gaming has always been about "good enough"

I guess you only play single player games?
I got Overwatch, Street Fighter, Tekken, Apex Legends, Helldivers in my PS5.

some people live in places without fast tenet connection. we are too spoilt with this convenience
wat exclusive this got? by exclusive i mean game that will NEVER cum to pc, not 'time-gated' like uncharted, gow, spiderman, ff7, horizon, ghost tsushima, etc other than demon's souls, wat else?

Definitely will do first-day purchase. 1. Fidelity + performance for the next 4 years. 2. Gaming consoles setup in living room + a work computer = perfect for me. 3. Documents in Microsoft Activision-Blizzard lawsuit, Sony won’t launch PS6 until 2028.
