Hey everyone,

I’m excited to announce that I’m planning to relaunch my VPN service, FinchVPN.

It’s been a while since I last maintained the service, and I’ve been working on a small relaunch, focusing on offering an affordable VPN solution for the budget-conscious market.

As part of this relaunch, I’m looking for users who are interested in testing the service for free during our trial run. The trial period will be free until further notice, and once it's over, the pricing will remain very affordable since the goal is to cater to the budget segment.

I’d also love to hear your feedback during this period. Any bug reports, suggestions for improvement, or general thoughts would be greatly appreciated as we work to fine-tune the service.

If you're interested in trying it out, feel free to join us!

what backbone do you use? Lately TM backbone to singapore has been pretty bad to play valorant meanwhile maxis has no issues (but 5G experience is still inferior to fibre optic)

what will happen if malaysian government demands you to show user logs?

Lastly for one subscription how many device that we can connect? Because for me I do have one PC and iphone.

what backbone do you use? Lately TM backbone to singapore has been pretty bad to play valorant meanwhile maxis has no issues (but 5G experience is still inferior to fibre optic)

what will happen if malaysian government demands you to show user logs?

Lastly for one subscription how many device that we can connect? Because for me I do have one PC and iphone.

only good when video.twimg.com are kept in singapore cdn, when it route to japan, all break losses.
TM pipe to JPNAP is only 10gbps, JPIX is 20gbps, while BBIX is 100gbps, no idea on private peering.

You can eihter enable TUN (whole system will route through VPN) or just "Set System Proxy" and it will only route browser and apps that relay on system proxy.

Glad to see old faces, if you still keen on using VPN may try us out. It is free during the trial run period and once it officially launch the pricing will be pretty afforable as well as we will mainly cater to the budget tier.

Yes we do keep the telegram id which may or may not be used in the future for notifications and transactional messages purposes.
It’s not possible to get phone number from telegram API though.

Not at this moment, we will dismiss the need of invite code when we officially launch. Linked telegram ID would get special offers in the future as part of the trial run programs.

okay, my feedback for malaysia node.
-max download speed are around 190mbps
-hosted in shinjiru
-will not fix TM bandwidth limitation (TM is definitely superior here)
-torrent is working, but far inferior to direct connection (tm unifi)
-ICMP ping/traceroute seems to be disabled here, not good for people that want to know their ping count or their traceroute hop lists
-will only recommend if SKMM do another fakup

for singapore node.
-can fully saturated my 500mbps internet connection
-hosted in digitalocean
-ICMP ping/traceroute are still disabled.
-HTTP download speed are comparable to TM unifi
- can torrent, but slower than direct connection
- youtube are slower compared to direct connection

so far okay, but i better judge when the VPN is saturated.

will i use? 50-50, only when SKMM is farking us again or if i really want to bypass streaming service geolocation limitation.

We do not block any ICMP packet on our side it is possible the client is not forwarding. Server side doesn't block anything at this moment.

Thanks for such a detail feedback, we will continue to do better and improve along the way.

If willing to pay, I would recommend Shadowrocket
If free, FoXray then

I would recommend Shadowrocket which I’m using myself

That review was probably done like 6/7 years ago if not mistaken.

Our current relaunch had retired all the existing software and technology.

Everything is being done from scratch to offer much better performance and privacy.

It is? As per testing earlier using the proxy mode on windows there’s no issue on all servers. MYS and SGP server both dns tested to be go through Singapore either cloudflare or Google while the other USA servers are all routed respectively

Since TS is giving free tests, I thought it would be a good opportunity to get some experience with v2ray and xray.

I've set it up on a proxmox lxc and I'm connecting through: https://github.com/xtls/xray-core/releases/

I did some curl tests and it seems to be working, I'll do more tests later.
It took some time messing with the config.json to get it to work, chatgpt was feeding me wrong info lol.

Do you mean like setting up your own server?
That repo is xray official repo, if you're client user it's not that convenient to use that.
Just use something like v2rayN or v2rayNG for windows and android as client.

Unless you're looking at server side instead.

If you have a home media server and you have the bittorent client on the server and you want the torrent to go through vpn, you'd want the vpn client to be on the server as well so that everything is managed within the server.

If the server is a hypervisor and headless and all the services run in containers or vms, you can't run the typical gui vpn client, there isn't a gui OS to install it on. Instead, you'd be running it in a docker container or on a debian/ubuntu server in a container or vm.
You could then either direct traffic from other containers/vms through the xray client or do proxy mode on the torrent client and run it through the xray client that way.

I don't know if there's a better way to do this since this is my first time trying xray. For openvpn and wireguard vpns you can use gluetun.

I actually tried using v2ray client first (chatgpt's idea) but it didn't work with https, I think because v2ray doesn't support httpupgrade as transport protocol.

I see now I know why you would want to use the official Xray cli repo

Didn’t know httpupgrade is exclusive Xray protocol but pretty sure it does have websocket which is pretty much similar.

If you're using Android, could just use our personalized app.
It added few feature on top of the original v2rayNG app so that it's easier to be used.
