You may want to lift the membership restriction for these guides. Some people might prefer to assess the quality of your documentation before signing up for anything.

Thanks for the suggestion, adjustment will be made. thumbsup.gif

That review was probably done like 6/7 years ago if not mistaken.

Our current relaunch had retired all the existing software and technology.

Everything is being done from scratch to offer much better performance and privacy.

It is? As per testing earlier using the proxy mode on windows there’s no issue on all servers. MYS and SGP server both dns tested to be go through Singapore either cloudflare or Google while the other USA servers are all routed respectively

Since TS is giving free tests, I thought it would be a good opportunity to get some experience with v2ray and xray.

I've set it up on a proxmox lxc and I'm connecting through: https://github.com/xtls/xray-core/releases/

I did some curl tests and it seems to be working, I'll do more tests later.
It took some time messing with the config.json to get it to work, chatgpt was feeding me wrong info lol.

Do you mean like setting up your own server?
That repo is xray official repo, if you're client user it's not that convenient to use that.
Just use something like v2rayN or v2rayNG for windows and android as client.

Unless you're looking at server side instead.

I'm running the xray in client mode in a debian container on my proxmox server.

Oh interesting, what an odd way to run Xray client. May I know what’s the use case?

If you have a home media server and you have the bittorent client on the server and you want the torrent to go through vpn, you'd want the vpn client to be on the server as well so that everything is managed within the server.

If the server is a hypervisor and headless and all the services run in containers or vms, you can't run the typical gui vpn client, there isn't a gui OS to install it on. Instead, you'd be running it in a docker container or on a debian/ubuntu server in a container or vm.
You could then either direct traffic from other containers/vms through the xray client or do proxy mode on the torrent client and run it through the xray client that way.

I don't know if there's a better way to do this since this is my first time trying xray. For openvpn and wireguard vpns you can use gluetun.

I actually tried using v2ray client first (chatgpt's idea) but it didn't work with https, I think because v2ray doesn't support httpupgrade as transport protocol.

I see now I know why you would want to use the official Xray cli repo

Didn’t know httpupgrade is exclusive Xray protocol but pretty sure it does have websocket which is pretty much similar.
