I'm driving a kia sorento um 2017 diesel. Mileage 88k km. Planning to do upgrades on the car when it hits 10. Also planning to keep car for 200k km.

(in no particular order):

1. Leather seats first two rows (dk schweizer). Third row used rarely, like new.
2. Auto foam (recommend shop)
3. 360 android from current android HU and reverse CAMERA. Already have front and rear camera. (teyes/recommend shop)
4. Full repaint of car (recommend shop).

Now which ones should I do in order? Can settle both/more at the same time? Did I miss other upgrades? Got service where I can drop car and let them settle it?

Things I have done: new ori front suspension replacement.

1) yrrs. leather seats will make the interior look like new and make driving much better

2) this is a nah. Autofoam is almost non reversible if you don't like what you did

3) 360 degrees camera is a big yes

what you want to do if you really want to keep your car is to change your lower arms and also engine mounting after about 8 to 10 years or ownership.

So no need to increase back the sound insulation after 10 years? Current insulation good for long time?

Lower arm already change with suspension. Engine mounting belum. When engine gegar baru change?

Since it's an SUV, I will go for HU and 360 first.
And the rest up to your preference.

I drive a sedan, my first upgrade is to a Pioneer HU with Android auto. Followed by Autofoam with KL Auto..

Some other upgrades I did are bigger brakes with 4 pots, Ultra racing strut bar and anti roll bar.

My next will be 360cam, a better dashcam for front and back, and sound proofing

Autofoam will the chassis too rigid. In an accident, the occupants will feel the impact and suffer from injuries.

Although there are some comments about Autofoam, most of them are giving comments without actually installing them.

I suggest you talk to KL Auto and decide if it's for you.
For my case I am pretty happy with the outcome.

old car... rubber door/window seals start to shrink n harden... replacing these will improve nvh a lot... also plastic clips will start to break or go missing, new clips to lock it back in place will reduce rattling noises... engine mounting already mentioned and is very important to reduce vibration...

autofoam can increase chassis stiffness improves handling but will makes the ride harsher, and it will reduce some ringing noise... but imho complete waste of money... this was a fad 30+ years ago... if so good, auto makers would have incorporated into car liao...

I see. For now NVH good. Nothing bad. Will focus on rubber seals first. My car spends most of its time underneath covered parking-only when driving will hit sunlight. So will focus on

1. 360 camera
2. leather seats

Owning a kpop sedan here. Vintage 2009.

1. 1 thing about kpop rubber is they seem to last longer than jap equivalent. mine still in excellent shape and condition. I think would be a total waste to change out those door seals at this time, 15yrs old.

Did the rm1 note test on all doors + boot. All passed with no big gap. Maybe you would want to do this test 1st before deciding to splurge money to change?

At the same time, maybe ask your friendly neighbourhood foreman to lift up your car on tyre alignment bay (coz all suspension parts and wheels are in loaded position) and visual check for crack rubbers/bushes before deciding to change any?

For suspension rubber parts, my car's front rubber components started to show minor cracks on 8th year of ownership and was replaced promptly. Rear rubbers only showed cracking recently. Will be replacing these too, in near future.

2. Ditto to the 360cam and android HU.... Mine just stayed at Android HU with 180deg reverse cam. More than enough, wife said.

3. Paint condition. If factory paint is still in good condition, without much stone chips, just send it for a detailing session. Cheaper than a full respray.

If badly stone chipped and/or butt-itchy, then respray. Resprayed mine end of 2019. Result was that good, so won't be recommending that shop.

But can try this shop my friend resprayed his toyota, at TTDI KL. Quite good workmanship. Maybe can consider specify using better high solid clear coat for respraying (more expensive but depends on your bajet)

BTW you didnt specify where are you based? In case you're in KV

CKM Auto

4. Lastly consider to restore or detail (if still in good condition) your plastic lens headlamps.

5. Autofoam? Don't think your car needs this kind of tweak. Have this on my wira (Side sills, A-pillars, B-pillars and rear subframe) and yes it markedly tightened up the softy chassis of early 90s vintage. On your 2017 car? I think it would be a complete waste of good money.

oh sorry. In Kota Bharu.

Door rubber seems good-suspension change half already. The other half, yet to change (waiting to hear sound). But since got good outside 3rd party kia/hyundai shop at KB, they physically jack up car and check suspension.

For 360, I think it is a must if I don't want to redo parking all the time. I usually find parking next to pillar so that I have more space to open doors.

Paint still good, luster gone. Almost 7 years- for this I think I will do it in KB.

What about your car seats? leather still good?

My rims are chrome plated-got few chips though small, still good. Car paint got some scratch lines. Interior door handle still immaculate condition (no scratch marks like most cars with the handle door opening. Maybe the big gap.

Headlamps still immaculate too. I placed tint -removed it last year. (after 6 years because tinted lamp at DRL starting to become brown). headlamp, foglamp Still looks good. Ori lighting. I seldom do night driving though.

BTW-how long do airbags last?

I see. I thought cannot scan. Since even though appear normal, chemicals inside to expand airbag expired.

This. Not only pricey, once done not reverse able. U might love or hate it, but it is permanent. Better do sound deadening insulation add on to the old car.

Depends on the package.. barely felt the weight. Definitely lighter than those support bars from Ultra Racing or other brands..
