wah...sounds like the new amex gold credit card is only good for local transactions, without the 2.5% admin fees and currency conversion at expensive rates

i have Telekom and Maxis bills now and each of them are paid using auto debit facilities from individual company now.
now to earn 5x points from the new Gold credit card, does it mean i have to go to Telekom and Maxis offices and cancel both auto debit facilities and then use the AMEX Express Autopay form for both Telekom and Maxis accounts? |

i understand that if you use the new American Express Gold credit card oversea, there will be 2.5% admin charge. Question: Will this 2.5% be added to the charged amount and appear as a single transaction in the bill or there will be one line for transaction amount and another line for 2.5% admin charge?

I've used both Amex Gold credit card and a Visa card, both from Maybank on the same day and the exchange rate for Amex Gold credit card is more expansive about 1.7%. And the weird thing is the $ i changed using Maybank money exchanger in the airport is even more expensive than Amex Gold credit card rate.
