Congrats! Never thought that Amex would give an AF waived on the Plat Credit Card. A new break thru. Especially on Amex Plat Series, never was there an annual fee waived since it was launch last year.

I received my 1st Amex Platinum CC last month. My new Amex Plat CC will expire on 2012. The expiry month follows the same month on my MBB Visa Petronas Platinum. Even my Amex Gold CC I received this year, expires on 2017 with the month as same as my MBB CC. The good news is that Amex is willing to waive the RM800 AF on the Plat CC.

I have called up the CS to check why Amex Gold Credit Card expires on 2017 and what happen if my card damaged during this period. The CS told me it was not a mistake and if the card damaged, I can get a replacement card for free. Unless it was stolen, I have to produce a police report to waive the RM50 replacement card fee. Currentlly I have an Amex Gold Charge Card which I have been a member since 1995. The "Member Since" embossed on my new Plat Credit and Gold Credit Card is 2009. I asked them is it possible to match these 2 new cards "Member Since" to follow my Amex Gold Charge Card since 1995. The CS told me it's possible. Yesterday, I received a courier from Amex with the 2 cards come with " Member Since 95" without any extra charges. I'm quite satisfied with their service since 1995. As you say, the best part is the 2nd year AF can be waived. I 'll consolidate all my spending on the Plat and Gold CC from now on to get better benefit on the points accumulations. Thanks.

Spoken to Amex CS last 2 weeks on the Prestige Platinum Card by Shangri-La Hotel that supposed to be delivered on top of my new Amex Plat Credit Card. According to them, Shangri-La does not issue anymore Prestige Plat to new Amex Plat members. Members need to flash and pay using their Amex Plat Credit Card to enjoy those dining and hotel discounts and benefits. But today, I received a courier from Shangri-La on the Prestige Plat Card with discounts vouchers. The card is red in color and valid only one year. Another added benefit on top of the 1st year annual fee waiver on the Plat Credit Card.
