@Dozz,
Now that's not v good news is it?! It shouldn't take longer than 2 months. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not reflected in my next current bill but I certainly would expect the $ to be returned to me at the v latest in the following months' one.

Ah well.. keep us updated yah? biggrin.gif

@winner,
Am not sure about the waiver for 1st year members but you're absolutely right about the Platinum CC not being as 'beneficial' as the Gold CC; hence I was insistent on cancelling mine if I couldn't get mine waived biggrin.gif

@vin_ann,
The post office has sent it over but AGAIN I had to make a trip to the post office and I been down with flu-like symptoms hence been quarantined for over a week now so I didn't go pick it up. Will just let them re send lah; it's not like I'm very kan cheong in wanting the CC.

Eh.. there's been so much talk on this Longines watch; can someone point me to the website re it?! I don't mind getting a 2nd one tongue.gif And well, since I'm going to be buying a new MBP I figured I probably MAY just qualify if I adjust my spending.

@hye,
I'm giving up my current MBP hence the need to get a replacement; macam mana nak give it to U? Quite a lot's been taking place over the last 3 weeks U been MIA sad.gif

@winner,
Unfortunately at this point in time, I've no other CC to use other than the Amex Plat. Also haven't been following news; just swiped about RM2k for flight tickets on AirAsia but didn't register in time *damn*

@MilesAndMore,
You're absolutely right but I don't think I wanna be spending so much on this purchase. Doesn't look like I be able to time all the spending for 1st of the month *siGh* Am going in to collect an i3GS today so that's going to be almost RM3k but it's end of the month; maybe I should just wait it out till 1st August but nah....

@ellimist,
Got the information through Mr Google last night; I guess it doesn't really matter to me; the Longines watch isn't exactly great looking but I would love to have it anyways tongue.gif RM8k isn't easy to spend if there's nothing to purchase *siGh*

@winner,
Unfortunately at this point in time, I have still not received the Amex Gold CC or I be using that. Ah well.... don't think I be spending RM8k so can forget about the Longines. Am not gonna go after it since I got an AF on my Platinum CC *grins*

@Gen-X,
Hmm.. so Zumanity wasn't that great huh? oK. I'll go for O in future then *grins* but am glad U enjoyed urself in the USA. Should've tagged along with U cause muAhahAH I caught the H1N1 here in KL!!!

@arsenal,
Apparently the Maxis system for Amex is down - at least that's what the CS tells me on the phone but IMO I think they just rather we don't use Amex to make payment. If U walk into their Maxis Centres to make payment, they still accept Amex CCs.

@santaclaus,
Perhaps no one answered ur question because this thread is meant to discuss American Express Cards and not Visa/Mastercard? tongue.gif

@arsenal,
Oh! Apologies, I thought U mean itu Auto Express Phone Payment thingy or something like that. I'm using Maxis and I managed to get it sent through; but I did it some time last week.

@Optiplex330,
I believe you must always call back to the office where the card was issued. I haven't made many of such calls but for Citibank, you are allowed to do a reverse-charged call. Citibank will pick up the cost of the call. I think it's the same for Amex too

@vin_ann,
Nope! By the time I was done with home quarantine, I'd oredi lapse the date to make the collection from the post office. Am not sure where my card is now and I haven't heard from Amex either. Maybe I should pick up the phone and contact Amex and harass them for the card? tongue.gif

Hi,

Just an update. I called Amex to ask about me Gold CC. They're apparently having my CC and I've asked them to resend it back to Maybankard Centre @ 1U for me to pick up. Also, the CS actually asked if I put in a request to cancel my Amex Plat CC *gulp*; I told him I didn't but I did put in a request for waiver of AF *grins* I wonder what's being reflected in my Account *grins*

Also, someone was asking about making calls back to Amex from overseas, right?! Or was that at the CC thread. Amex apparently has a new number for customers to call when they're overseas [I didn't take the number down in time!] and they will accept collect calls *smiles*

@Optiplex330,
Yes I believe there'll be extra charges for outstation cheques. The other option is to open a Maybank account; subscribe to Maybank2U and pay your CC charges via M2U. It's hassle free & most convenient, IMO smile.gif

Also, go for the Amex Gold CC *smiles* That one gives pretty good benefits; in fact I told the CS the benefit on that card outweighs the Amex Platinum CC and the latter's annual fee is a whopping RM800 !

*siGh* I'm gonna be spending some $ this weekend but it's ridiculous because if I want to be in the running for the Longines watch, I'm gonna haf to make the purchase onli on 1st September and that would mean I'll need to go back to d mall AGAIN! *siGh*

Maybe I should forget all about the Longines watch tongue.gif

*SiGh*

I spent >RM8k over the Merdeka Hols. I just couldn't wait till 1st September to swipe the card; guess I won't be getting the Longines. I did also just swipe RM10k today but I'm not sure if I still am within the 1st 100 or not!

Ah well... at least I know I probably get the Delsey bag if I don't get the Longines watch. Not like it's v nice anyways tongue.gif

@winner,
Ah well.. the numerous times I had to make large payments; I too wasn't able to use my Amex so well, live with it or go make that purchase elsewhere tongue.gif And at the v least, U can still use some other CC to collect points or something *smiles*

@arsenal,
I ain't too sure but if it's something U gotta spend, Y not just TRY; worst scenario U don't win anything but at least U benefit from the 2x points biggrin.gif

PS: I just realised the Delsey bag is for the 1st 1,500 people who spends >RM8k for the entire duration period. Ah well.. I guess I probably don't qualify for that then *siGh*
