@vampbreak,
Yes that is right - I joined Amex as their Platinum CCholder last year and paid the RM800 they asked for. This year, I made a request for waiver and I got it *smiles* Just don't ask me how much I spent with them lah `k? @aeronlim, AFAIK I'm not the 1st who managed the AF waiver @bingozero, 3 weeks and still being processed? Y so slow lah!?! |

@vin_ann,
Yeah... perhaps I shouldn't have advertised it here but well I figured no harm done, right?! *smiles* And if they decide to charge me AF next year then I'll just cancel the card @winner, Yes CS told me to go ahead and make the RM800 payment because by the time the process is lodged up it would have surpassed my due date so to make things easier he asked if I could pay the RM800 otherwise the system will automatically capture interest on unpaid amount wor *shrugs* @Reventon, Do keep us updated on your AF waiver. |

@cute_boboi,
As long as you aren't charged I guess it's oK @zenquix, Did U try using the card subsequently at another place? It could be magnetic strip error as in the information on the magnetic strip is corrupted hence the card is no longer usable. @MilesAndMore, ellimist & vianc, Thanks but I don't moderate this thread; just AppleBytes |

@Gen-X,
My Moderating status does not apply on this forum @cute_boboi, Yes there's a charge of RM5 if U request for Amex Gold CC to send you the monthly statement. Pls make sure U didn't get charged. @GHz, It is possible they change the points structure; hence I decided not to wait anymore - will see what I can redeem this afternoon when I'm at the TreatsFair. @GHz,
TP points had an inflation too last year when they came up with a new book. Looks like it's time to make the redemptions before higher inflation kicks in. I'm off to TreatsFair in the afternoon - i'll report back on what's happening for us Amex users tonight @vin_ann, 10q but it's just much more work now This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 24 2009, 12:08 PM |

@GHz,
U could do the redemption via phone! Better do it before U lose out more due to inflation. |

@New Hank,
Amex is accepted at most Shells - thus far, only 1 Shell has failed me (at Bandar Sri Damansara) but other than that it's been fine. As to Petronas, we been informed U need to swipe at the counter. @Gen-X & GHz, The TreatsFair is offering 8,500 TP/MR for RM50 of Petronas voucher - that IMHO is pretty good exchange rate. I didn't read about other vouchers and no one mentioned it during the TreatsFair so I'm unsure if U can redeem other vouchers there at a lower value. |

@vin_ann,
So how long did U haf to wait before the card was approved?! @pillage2001, Yes Amex has one of the better points system around - not comparable to Citibank; not at all. |

@vin_ann,
I didn't know about actual card collection - thought it was just temporary cards being issued out. Alas what happens if I don't go make the collection? Will they just send to my house?! |
