Hi All, as per title, is 650W PSU enough for below part? I tried Cooler Master PSU calculator the result shown 590W for the whole built, but i saw Zotac website its shown zotac trinity 3080 ti 12gb recommended PSU is 750W.

Ryzen 7 5700x
Cooler Master Hyper 212 turbo
B550 Mobo
8GB 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM x 4
1TB M.2 SSD x 1
Zotac trinity 3080 ti 12gb
1TB HDD x 1
and probably 6 120mm case fan

Last time I use 3080 non TI, with 5800X GX650 650W Cooler Master gold unit will trip when running certain games, I would suggest get at least 850W gold unit and above to be safe. You need to consider the GPU power spike or transients too.

3080 Ti ? See what GN recommends below:

3080s & 3090s have notorious high sudden power spikes that can shutdown underspec PSUs. Most PSU calculators dont factor this.

Also consider min above is for new PSU in new system, if you going to keep for few years need to budget extra 50-100w (ie 850W) to factor in PSU deterioration.

if u won't OC your gpu or cpu at all... better still, if you undervolt them, then the psu is adequate...

then again, if you are thinking of getting a new psu regardless, better get a bigger one.

Not enough. I have the 3080 12GB , my 750W Seasonic PSU is barely enough.
All 3080/3090 cards have power spikes once in a while . Can eat up 500W+ in split seconds for mine.
Lets say your CPU eat up 100W .

And your RGB , AIO pumps , fans , HDD ? .. you dont have enough headroom.

last time one of my friends used evga 1000w with a 3080 ti. first 2 years no issue, then all the sudden play games momentarily pc would shut down. turns out 3080 ti is spiking very high with age!

tukar to corsair hx1500i and the problem went away.

so yes, 650W isn't enough. 850W also not enough.

better get newer ATX 3.0/3.1 PSUs (preferably those that don't have a dedicated 12vhpwr port - good ones will provide cable for 2x8 pin to 1 12vhpwr, hence compatible with non-12vhpwr GPUs), most can handle spikes that are higher and longer duration than older ATX 2 PSUs.

PSU have its own rating tier, for the usually efficiency rating is tested between 70% load and it's recommended to not run your PSU load beyond 70%.
Also not mentioning now CPU and GPU can consume more wattage for frequency boost.

Therefore assuming your PSU is 650W x 0.7 load x 0.92 efficiency =~ 420W

3080 Ti is recommended to have minimum 750W PSU but always give some buffer to it. 850W would be minimum to me but bare in mind the PSU will be degraded after years of usage. Basically, normal gaming should be enough if you don't overclock it. So far I never overclocking my graphic card or processor.

A little note: 3080 Ti's are known for their high transient power spikes, so it's recommended to get something that can handle the power spikes icon_idea.gif
