More than just a CDN, it is a full blown region with 3 availability zones.

This type of cloud data centre is almost managed remotely and maintenance is done by mostly automation tasks.

it only needs small number of people probably < 50 to do hardware maintenance and perimeter security. these type of jobs is low pay. Compared to those high pay IT staff such as data center architect, software developer , system integration, those jobs easily get US$10K per month.

You would be surprise many Malaysians here locally already are already in those roles, supporting customers around the region. They benefit even more now that more and more business is coming locally and they get huge amount of projects and managed services contract.

not entirely correct.
years ago, they try to move IT companies there.
some did, but eventually, most of companies move bck out to KL due to better transportation, ease of logistic.

but, while the operation dint end up in cyber, many data center did.
a lot of companies jab their PROD or DR daya center quietly sots on cyberjaya for years already.

Why you go layan some schizo who confused his race. That dude is a serial racial baiter who likes to instigate hatred from both sides.

Last time he kantoi he is actually not Malay and a muslim. Sometimes he will pretend he is Chinese and one moment later he is a Malay.

Just ignore and move on.

Yup don’t try to argue with someone who justified lying about smoking to insurance. Press the ignore button and leave him be.

YES. Full bloom Region and Availability Zone.
The physical data centre itself not gonna provide few thousand job opportunities, but with the available of local AZ, hundreds if not thousands of business within Malaysia/ASEAN will leverage the services offered by Amazon. These services need ALOTS of IT expertise to design, implement, operate and maintain <-- this will create thousands of jobs for cloud professional, database admin, operating system admin, programmer, web developer and whatever you name it.

Having said that, /K refuse to read and understand and claim dc = call centre. Lul lul lul lul ~

What's the need of crediting this to madani?

Jemin yang mulakan perbincangan remember?

Anyhow, US tech companies already got expansion plan in SEA developing markets, we are considered latecomer to the game, as Jakarta region and soon Bangkok region will come into place first

Not to mention SG was the second AWS region in Asia right after Japan more than 10 years ago

You sound bitter.
So you wanna attribute azmin for one round of discussion, what about all the other stages of progress that makes it an actual investment?

Of course those megatech companies have plans. They always have plans, but to make it a reality, malaysia had much to do and prepare for them to commit. Add to that, our electricity and water tariff are cheaper than our neighbours, which translates to more attractive reasons for them to land here.

Also to add land is cheap. smile.gif

Happy to see that PMX put his ego aside and redevelop Cyberjaya, instead of creating a new Malaysian Silicon Valley region, after all Cyber is Mamak brain child biggrin.gif
