 New absorber with old spring, Getting sport lowering kit

good morning guys, last week, i have replaced my stock proton preve absorbers (since 2012) to KYB ULTRA RS, but retain the original coil

thinking of replacing the spring as well becuase old original spring may already be too soft, should i get the original brand spring, or get a lowering sport spring like eibach sport pro kit?

any suggestion or review are welcomed before i buy coz i dunno if it will be better or worse notworthy.gif

Normally you don't change spring. It hardly get softer in my opinion.

Do you like to lower your ride until has to crawl when go over a bump especially in housing area? Shorter spring means using stiffer absorber (hard spring too) to prevent tire movement hit max distance to your car body which means bumpy ride. In racing sport is okay because you are not driving all day long but for daily you, I would regret that.

i see, from what you explain here....i only drives on weekend, if im driving alone, the absorbers is ok

but when i drive with passengers on board, it somehow, still feels abit soft sweat.gif

Usually stock coil spring don't often change but they do have different when side by side the new one vs the old one like 1.5 to 3 inch height different for my more than 7 year old working vehicle last time, but in real road conditions do they have height difference or not tak tahu, me also no go measure the gap in between tyre to fender kind of things after installation 😂

my ride height before and after change the absorber, not much different also...but comparing the force needed to push down or goyang2 the car up and down, new one is harder smile.gif

I don't know for other but my other working vehicle rear coil spring after replacing original new spring and absorber also don't feel much different for driving conditions i never go and pushing down to test,

i only feel different when i replace rear absorber with serviceable/thicker diameter made absorber from those 4x4 workshop only i feel have different like rear load/unload no more too bloating/shaking 😂

after changing absorbers, bushing, etc, the ride should be very comfortable
if can hit the bottom when carrying passengers, means the absorbers either too soft or the springs sag oledi, can replace. but again if replace with eibach which is lowered springs, then it defeat the purpose because it is for stable rides, but will still hit the bottom because lowered.

in my case, even the ride height is relatively the same, but somehow, the front absorbers feels softer than rear..when braking, feels macam the front dived more than the old one sweat.gif

Possibility your front absorber is oil type? gas type absorber much more stiff.

Springs don't go soft with overtime except if the absorbers are dead and the chassis being supported by the springs for long periods.

Please check your new absorber shalf length, if not mistaken original RS spec. fit with original spring unless the shalf length come shorter than your original absorbers usually 1inch shorter for lowered purpose.
