for wideangle...get the 12-24 f4....
it's a dx lens...it's lighter and cheaper and can zoom! =) 30mm on dx sensor is not wide enough....its equivalent to 45mm |

Btw, how much will it cost to replace the lens mount of the d40 kit lens? I'm abit worry of mind... |
