I got a new lens with Arcus Swiss plate and want to use it on my old tripod with manfrotto head.

Thanks.

Screw threads are about 4 mm into the hole. Enough to hold 3 kg lens + camera?

There are 2 threaded holes on the Acrus swiss plate. What are they for?

Should be good enough.
But i would still hold the camera/lens instead of the tripod when moving around.
I never fully trust a tripod QR system, but tat is just me.

IINM the 2 smaller threaded holes are used with set screws as anti-slip/anti-rotation to prevent the system from becoming loose or fall slip out.
