It's a reliable car and nothing much to go wrong.
I suggest you give this to your wife and you get something more adventurous
Consider suv, alza
Or even save up for a proton or perodua ev

Do you need this car immediately?

If can delay, then wait until the launch of EV from both P1 and P2. Then you will have a field day choosing lower priced pre-loved cars, I think.

Used myvi, last gen also ok, without cvt gb. FC still decent for all P2 car. Last time I bought used Iriz 1.6 for work drive to KL, its FC average is higher than my Accord 2.4, average 10.5 - 11km/l

sure onot... getting gud axia is ady tough.. finding gud kelisa/kenari definitely much harder..
any engine spoilt is confirm few k ady.. no matter what car..
just a matter of how one treat their car..

am using axia since 2015 and I think many more ppl using much longer than that so far no engine issue..
just make sure service on time and use proper engine oil lor... just like any other car..

Bro, you haven kena major parts u never know.

The best is ask those mechanic which fix Perodua cars ask them which car is the best to own, easy to maintain and cheap. I believe 10/10 will tell you the best from Perodua models is Kelisa/Kenari, if not why 2nd value still linger around 10k for good condition?

Which Almera? The older one is a nightmare to maintain when things start to go wrong.

20k budget you can look at KIA.
The RIO is a nice modern looking hatchback, the Cerato is the big brother in a Sedan, the Forte is older but cheaper.
Maintenance is like any Jap cars and OEM parts are readily available.
It may not be as economical as an AXIA, but definitely better built.
Stay away from SUV because is high maintenance, stay away from VW POLO sedan (very cheap) same reason.

lol, how u know I haven kene major parts?
what makes u think I don't have other cars?
and u think I don't have own Perodua or outside mechanic to consult after all this while?

Seriously, the statement is ridiculous.. how can one get good condition Kelisa/Kenari after so many years.. it is bound to wear & tear..

Did u go into Kenari or Kelisa group in LYN? Did u know how some ppl are scratching their heads thinking of problems that are surfacing now?

Like I mentioned, it doesn't matter what car u drive as long u maintain it properly, any car can be a good car.

If u think 10k is an indication of the best car quality from Perodua then by all means pls go ahead..

Just simple car knowledge - Axia engine block & Kelisa engine block

Axia newer engine use full aluminum
Kelisa still using cast iron engine block

When both overheat, which 1 will survive and able to rework back easily. Cast iron engine been proven to last longer and easier to fix compare to aluminum block, the only good thing aluminum block is light weight for better fuel economy but the material is more fragile and easy to wrap when overheat. Better widen your friends range and mix with mechanic and ask them personally.

Besides that, Daihatsu L7/L9 (L7 Mira Cuore = Kelisa, L9 Move = Kenari) a lot of half-cuts in market and cheap replacement can be found in shopee lazada. If you never see overall support from spare part, to engine realibility, aftermarket spare part support, Kelisa/Kenari until today still on top of 2nd market. In regards of wear & tear, the cost of replacing those items are not expensive and easy to get, thus why i always propose Kelisa/Kenari at first. Axia only when you got extra money to get the top AV model with ASA, if not those basic model rather just get Kelisa/Kenari.

Personally, most newer proton cars after the mitsubishi wira era most mechanic wont recommend as aftermarket spare part is more less choice (you can only buy new and dont have Japanese halfcut to buy cheap replacment)
The only Proton car i heard less issue when start using Campro engine is the 1st gen Persona with the 1.6 (Aluminum intake) manual or 4-speed auto. That car really built to last and even less issue compare to Gen.2/Waja at that time. The rest after that use CVT really gone down further.

Thanks for the advise, bang! Didnt realize Iriz may have used part issues. But I do see alot of them on the road, hence was curious.

Tbf no part issues. Just call nearby SC, if luck, parts already at the sc and can straight come, else make booking for part, 1-2 weeks parts ready. I changed my broken iriz steering garnish black plastic part at SC cz outside, seller sold at higher price after installation

worth to wait .. sometimes outside shop will say SC more expensive but the reality they want to cut your throat with higher price
