Hello everyone,
I have a couple of cameras that has been sitting there, no idea what is the condition. What is the best way to deal with it?
The A55 required some fixing but Sony centre said the parts are no longer available - so I guess its a lemon unit now?
Also with an A-Mount 18-105mm lense.

If you are in a position whereby it's no longer about financial loss/liability, and there's a way to salvage the kit to usable condition...
Think about giving it to a kid/person who might not have had the opportunity to get such cameras... And you think maybe has the talent/interest to make full use of your kit.

Give them to your young siblings/niece/nephew. Guide them how to use a camera. U will be surprised by how this helps in bringing out their creativity 2. Bring them to 3rd party camera service centre. There's one reliable one at Kompleks Mutiara, 1st floor. Behind Digicolor. Then use them again. 3. Keep them as a part of decoration at home. 4. Recycle them

If the A55 is beyond repair and parts are unavailable, I’d say it’s probably not worth sinking more money into. You could try selling it for parts or maybe find someone who likes fixing up old gear. I’ve had a few cameras like that, and sometimes just letting them go as-is works out. As for the 18-105mm lens, if it’s still in decent shape, you might get a good price for it. If not, selling it for parts or even trading it could be a good option to get something out of it.

Keep it as collection, just for display purpose
