Changing battery still cheaper than getting Apple Care. Also usually there isn't a need to change battery for the first 2 years.
Think of Apple Care like insurance, it's good to have but you may or may not need it.

You are correct, is like a insurance, that provide you the coverage without any question asked, actually I known some of the youtuber which purchase Apple care+ and then test their iphone on any drop test or any accidental damage test, then return to Apple to get another unit (the existing unit is total loss), one of my friend also using this method to get a new iphone just before the coverage expired.

Apple Care+ even cover self break too?

Accidental damage is considered self break too, but obviously if you tell them it was intentional and not accident then they won't cover. But who will actually tell that, and they can't prove it either

My friend in SG also doing that. Oopss nearing AppleCare expiry. Break back glass, shattered. Get replacement (it seems to be refurbished set, checking the model serial). But still new phone and new 100% battery.

For Malaysia, so basically paying Rm139 (glass break) + RM899 Apple Care for newish phone on year 2.

battery health need to be below 80% to qualify which is harder. break glass is "cheapest". Other accidental is RM469.

Meaning purposely make the screen broken and claim a new unit? I was thinking only total loss situation than only Apple will change a new refurbish unit.

It’s not new… it’s from refurbished stockpile which can check model name.

But battery health 100% and condition externally is pristine.

Worth it or not? You decide.

With Apple refurbished there is nothing to worry. Genuine parts as compared to refurb set from other reseller outside.
