How to get job at Singapore on 2024

Recently , I been spamming job application at Jobstreet but no company call back for interview

Tu la. Let’s throw everything on the wall to see what sticks

Dude u gotta be selective and customize your resume for the jobs not apply all jobs and see how

Because Singapore don't exactly hire those office worker at the moment.

Most of them take in PR or with employment pass only

Just curious, what is your profession? Or what is your subjects during unis?

It depends, if they want a specific candidate or skillset, they wil work to get the EP for the candidate. One of my staff just gotten a role there and the hiring company did the application for the EP pass and all to ensure that they can hire him. It wasn't easy as they had to justify why they were not hiring a local and needed to hire internationally.

Banking, specifically around risk and compliance

My majoring is in banking but no much experience in banking industry

Becoz I don't really like banking culture have to overtime until 9pm

u can try to enter SG but apply for 1 level lower than ur qualification

example u can be manager in MY, but u apply for manager trainee or supervisor position in SG

If my current position is executive then I need to apply for junior executive ?

Based on my experience, you can find a job very easy if you don't choose JOB (For example, Waiter, Cleaner, Chief, Factory Operator) and not demanding high salary.

Of course, if you have abovementioned request, it will quite hard to get a job unless there are demand for your skillset/ industry or lubang. In order to push up the Work Pass Quota (EP, S-Pass, PRC, NTS), usually company will give these passes quota to 3D (Dirty, Dangerous and Difficult) job to foreigner. Those easy job such as Admin, HR, Finance, Logistic etc will prioritize for Singaporean/PR first.

Not as easy as it was a decade ago. Many new jobs are in new fields like AI. Even doctors are finding new jobs hard, as Singapore has ramped up local medical graduates from 150 a year to 500 per year.

I see , but the weird part my friend gotten job as engineer & logistics department

So I think they are very lucky to able to get admin jobs at there

i got 1 interview for PSA, made it only to the 2nd phase

from the interview i can guess why i failed, apparently they wanted someone who can stay at least 5 years in the company because EP is very hard to get.

so there u go, if u give out any vibe that u wont stay at least 5 years ur chances are lower

I got a job in SG thru networking. Sometimes good to maintain a healthy relationship with colleagues / vendors / clients. You never know what they can bring to you
