I am just curious, there are many workshop out that are "sponsored" by some unknown engine oil brand. And most of them will going to use that brand of engine oil if you do no have a desire brand when bringing your car to service there.

Actually what are they? are those small unknown brand fake oil or low quality brand tiputipu? Or are are something like made by big company but rebranding into other unknown named brand? Is it recommended to use?

some example of unknown brand
Voils, G Energy. Eximius, Arrow, Kings etc

There are a lot, and most put in lots of marketing. In the end if its too good to be true. Don't get it go back with Ori.

Currently using Gulf Western Oil 0W-20. Better then Honda Engine Oil. Engine no leak but reach 3K RPM for a while got Engine oil smell

I have checked some of them, most of it has a website and looks legit.
But then I found a suspicious thing, the address they put on the website seems weird. pinpoint at some random building or kilang.

I only buy engine oil from brands that actually make lubricants like Castrol, Total, Mobil 1, Liqui Moly. Never buy fake brands that buy base oil in bulk and claim to add additives. There are too many cheap oils being sold here but claimed as fully syntetic.

do consider the amount of $$ they put into R&D, and if they continuously do so as we have newer engines coming out every year. i seriously dont believe the ciplak brand will spend that money every year. so you either get rubbish or basic engine oil that plays it too safe, it will never be performance grade.

Not only online, many workshops and car spare part shops also sell fake engine oils also. But the fake one affects only the popular brands like Castrol, Shell, Petronas, etc.
Must always look for authorized dealer to buy branded engine oil. Cases of engine being damaged, leaking is increasing nowadays due to so many people using cheap fake EO.

Usually this is only when the coolant or water mix with engine oil, either overheated before, oil cooler leak or mod too much until head gasket burn and cause the coolant leak over into engine internals.
