Lots of positive promotion and trend for EV in the last few years, but now it seems like too troublesome and too expensive to own EVs?

So is it worth it? Any EV owner can share your experience?

China EV good?

I will wait until the gov allows EVs under 100k to be sold here and the major Chinese players enter Msia market.

Currently all fully imported from china
Price must be more than 100k

CKD made in Malaysia no such limitation. Ev are supposed to be around 50k 60k

If want to buy now, get Tesla. Because no chance it will be made in malaysia

But many want even cheaper models from Tesla, say Model 2?

True, a lot of actions from new comers are expected late this year as well as next year , so it could just be few months waiting. Some should be definitely under RM100k, some over

Let's count them....

Proton first EV e.MAS 7

Leapmotor C10 and T03

Nammi 01 a.k.a Dongfeng Box S31 , spotted and reported as CKD

Kaiyi X3 Pro EV SUV, spotted but report is scarce

https://autobuzz.my/2024/07/17/kaiyi-x3-pro...-malaysia-soon/
Let's hope more will made it here to join the party : the more the merrier

Wait for Perodua's EV, city car better get something not too big and expensive. An EV of below RM80k to be most ideal. So that's is not a lot of money to lose even if total loss it.

But charging problem? Slow and can only charge at home?

Even small ICE car can travel quite far, if drive not too fast, 100km plus plus.

Can small EV go that far?

While travelling long distance, where to charge? Borrow from people's home socket feels awkward, how to pay them?

Bro,

You obviously have no clue about EVs or any interest in reading about it. Why open post?

huh? I'm asking genuine questions, can you just provide the answers?

I am all for better tech to fix the environment, but are these not persistent issues of EV?

Especially in Malaysia? We don't have good EV infrastructures.

That's why I wrote, EV as city car, then it fits all the purpose and intention of having a low-cost less than RM80k EV. And I also wrote, better wait for Perodua for that.

City with say 330-350 practical range should be ok. Can always charge it at home, I meant landed house in this case. Ya, many of us in Johor do own landed house wink.gif

if ev is your main car... you will be buying long/extended range version... full charge from KL can go JB or Penang or kota bharu...

if you buy basic/standard version... mid way ipoh, air hitam, gua Musang can dc fast charge 20 min top up... enough time for teh tarik n toilet break... as long as no ev q lah... hahaha

plugshare app shows all the charger location... going out station is no big issue, just need extra time n planning...

imho main problem is overcoming range anxiety and unlearn ice sop... if can charge at home, going ev is easy...

For those who voted "Yes", I dare say only less than 20% are actually owning an EV right now.
