EU announces €150 billion defense spending program
The bloc’s security is “threatened in a very real way,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has claimed


European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced a €150 billion ($158 billion) loan programme to boost the bloc’s defense industry and increase the military capabilities of its member states.

The so-called “ReArm Europe” project is aimed at making the EU “safer and more resilient,” von der Leyen said in a speech on Tuesday.

“This is a new instrument. It will provide €150 billion of loans to member states for defense investment,” she stressed.

The EU needs to start “spending better and spending together” on developing its military capabilities because “we are living in dangerous times. Europe’s security is threatened in a very real way,” the head of the European Commission’s head claimed.

According to von der Leyen, the loans should allow member states to expand “pan-European capabilities” in such areas as air and missile defense, the production of missiles and ammunition, the manufacture of drones and anti-drone systems, cybersecurity, military mobility and others.

“Europe is ready to massively boost its defense spending, both to respond to the short-term urgency to act and to support Ukraine, but also to address the long-term need to take on more responsibility for our own European security,” she said.

so many still go work under table and claim asylum. unker heard firsthand case, got one went uk in early 2000s work as cook in cainis resoran one week ~800gbp send back money for house and children uni. came back my in 2010s, could not find job, then went back to uk again no problem and working again. 50-60 go uk still can find job as cook. somemore uk airport allow her to enter, no blacklist for overstaying as if they don't even know about it.

they don't even check whether people leave the country or not. there is no passport control when exit.

unker is surprised how soft western countries have become, they are too trusting or maybe decades of affluence have made them lose perspective on how far people from poorer countries will go to get in.

Gas price was expensive mostly in Germany, the heart of europe. France is using nuclear power and Italian, Spanish using North Africa gas pipe.

They all including UK increase their gas price to help Germany subsidy their lost. This shows how much Germany is dependent on Russia after they kill off their nuclear energy.
