hi guys.. i'm a lil lost as to how i'm supposed top solve this problem.. i downloaded a whole album.. and when i add thenm to my itunes, they do not show up in the proper order as the album listings.. i've tried rearranging their names but to no avail.. can anyone pls point me in the right direction?

I was also about to create an iTunes thread (with a different question) -- I'm new here in this section btw
Had searched this section, there's no dedicated iTunes thread, so hopefully anyone can point to us if there is one, or if there is non, please change the topic's title to something like "iTunes: Q & A" (and stickied it plz? lol)

My situation:
I have an iPod and always put in songs into it using the iTunes in my PC.
My brother had a PC too and has iTunes in it, but I have never use it to put in songs.

My problem:
Recently I wanted some songs in his PC, so I connect my iPod to his PC to take it, but after I'm done taking it, all the songs that were previously exist in my iPod are gone! -- and is now replaced with the songs that I have taken from his PC.

My question:
(for next time) How am I able to take songs from his PC's iTunes, without losing all my songs originally in my iPod?
Of course I have already thought of "put his songs in a thumbdrive and put them in my own pc", but that is quite redundant.
If there is a solution to it, that would be most appreciated, thank you in advance.

1stly, i wanted to say is, u better removed to fact 'bout u know what' which i quote n deleted em. n bout rearranging track arrangement

as u can either change it with right click>properties>summary>advance n change the tracks according to the sshot, or u can open ur itunes>right click>get info n change the one circled accordingly.

coz when u sync ur iPod, it will only put wats in ur current iTunes library, hence wat's in ur bro's itunes list will be there including what he dun have. Apple n his way of DRM/prevent from song sharing (aka piracy/peering or watever u call it) so, the only way is copy his song to ur thumb drive (or u can use ur iPod as external hdd n copy the file into it) n paste it at ur comp n update ur iTunes playlist.

i think u should try to put track no. in the song files.
right click each song -> properties etc..

then arrange them according to artist.
that should do it i think..

Why so mah-fan? Just select the songs you want from his PC, then drag-and-drop to your ipod. Simple!

the reason your iTunes did that is that you have 2 different artistes. Please "Get Info" for the 2 albums, select the "Compilation" option, at the bottom, and select "Yes".
That should fix your problem.

hey guys.. got another problem.. i just bought a movie from itunes store and was downloading it.. then half way thru, i paused it and close it..

later i open again and this time it asks me to confirm my password for my account, only thing is, it's stuck there.. it doesn't let me enter my password, i've tried restarting my comp, but still same.. the dialog box is just empty.. can't even see the msg or type in anything..

as i'm writing this msg now, the damn stuck dialog box keeps poping up every 10 secs.. it's really frustrating..

anyone know how to solve this?

if thru iPod, portable HDD mode. u might not able to play the song. just kept it there, n then copy it to ur com n update ur iTunes. or else, thumb drive, cd etc.

why u wan to convert em? if for ur iPod, then it should be automatically converted (well in my case) when i add folder to my playlist n it change all non iPod playable audio to ACC (it can be change though but by default, ACC)

figured that I should post Itunes questions here too.

My computer is able to read mandarin characters (simplfied and not simplified), However when i transfer my songs into itunes,
the chinese characters are not read-able. There are turned into some weird looing symbol.

Any suggestion or solutions?

Anyone of you know how to do batch renaming for album/artist/genre name for songs. I can't go on editing it all one by one for all 100 of songs

I use mp3tag on Windows for that. Really fast and friendly.

Not sure about equivalent software for the mac though...

u can just use iTunes, select the song u wanted (for multiple selection, click n drag/ or just use shift button) then right click>get info n change/insert album/artist/genre/years/etc watever n it will change it all for u.

both of my iTunes n iPod can view japanese + kanji (chinese character) well. i wonder why it doesnt works for u. n sinoffire, all iPod support chinese or other language, it just that ur iTunes have problem identified it hence ur iPod will display wat ur iTunes display. try check ur Regional and Language Option (if ur using pc, bout Mac, i dun have one so, sorry)

because the ipod can only sync with one mac/pc..thats why it will delete your library when u sync with other mac/pc..

to solve this use senuti for mac...can copy ur songs from your ipod to your mac...u can also find something similar for windows...

Never use sync, manage manually, this is my advice. Unless you have enough empty space in your PC same as the space for your ipod. Imagine you have to allocate 160G in your PC just because you have 160G ipod and they need to duplicate each other, that's VERY inconvenient design of iTunes

just make a new playlist and sync from the playlist into your ipod... it just that easy

I think this is because you typed the chinese characters using chinese star. Some chinese songs I had also have jumbled characters, only viewable when I have Njstar on. So I retype them using the build in windows chinese input method and it can be displayed in both my Ipod touch and itunes.

I've just tried connecting my iPod to my Mac & Windows, and both shows the library just fine. You can add songs normally.

I use the manual sync though.

If you still want it, you need to register an account under US:

1. Visit this link: http://www.tunecore.com/freealbum
2. Get a redeem code from there. Copy it.
3. Redeem the code on your iTunes (Click on iTunes Store and on the right side, you will see "Redeem" so click on that)
4. Paste it on the box.
5. Afterwards, just register for an account.
6. Fill in all the fake information and country under US. (Select "None" on the paying method)

Now, you have an iTunes Store Account.
