It is not a design flaw, you are using it based on an iPhone made for the American market , so the numerical designation is based on their's as well. Since you made the jump to use this here, this should be accepted as part of the things you either have to bear, or you mod the respective .plist. Next time, look into the product and see what are the things you have to accept before spouting your complaints and whinings. Things like this can simply be rectified or avoided, rather than complaining here.
Most of us iPhone users here accepted the fact that the iPhone is made for the American market, hence those preferences you see on the current iPhone. We accepted the fact that we need to modify it to make it work as per our norms, and this is most important. The iPhone works right out of the box for the American market, and to make it work to our market , certain modifications have to be done. You wouldn't be as whiny as this if you were he one doing the unlocking, or if you explicitly know what you are getting into when you are getting an iPhone.
So please, instead of spouting "bloody iPhone design flaws" and whatnots, think of WHO this iPhone is designed for before you make such ignorant comments.
