white car needs more washing to keep looking nice... coating reduces dirt sticking and makes washing easier...
dunno your car care routine... what car... route/how bad chipping... disposable income etc etc... hard to recommend
you can always diy with cheap ceramic spray or ceramic wax... imho this is the bare minimum starting point... dont go with traditional polymer/wax as they attract oil n dirt...
if your existing car lots of rock chipping n you sadding then some ppf is helpful to reduce your stress n worries... dont need branded ones, <1k, change every 5 yrs... but remember white paint easy to touch up

good luck
BTW, if you got time go read the car user manual of paint surface car maintenance, if not mistaken most car manufacturer never really recommend or write must do all these expensive ppf coating. Only recommend do is normal wax & polish after certain period.
Wax original purpose is to protect the original paint, so if you see the dirt or oil mark outside at least it is doing its job and you can repolish and redo again the wax.
Those expensive stuff, if not take care also same and especially water spots even more obvious. Spend more money for coat also spend more time asking those coating supplier to remove the water spots.
