Hi all sifu,

Am getting a white car. Planning to pamper my car since it's new.

Currently more towards coating as PPF will become yellowish overtime and PPF is way more expensive than coating.

Understood that both will still need frequent car wash.

feel free to vote, comment, discuss and learn together.

Thank you in advance.

*coating warranty: recoat if hydrophobic effect weakened (all decided by the shop though)
*maintenance: paying a fee to fully pamper your car (wash, polish, recoat).

As requested:
car care routine: biweekly car wash (at first..... laugh.gif )
med size suv in white
city drive mostly with daily kl highway drive

Don’t waste time with this coating etc. coating have to do maintenance every few months

The cost of it u keep after 2 to 3 years you repaint back the car is much better

Beside if u in kl, the more shinier your car the more people will scratch or dent your car

Waste money for coating, better you keep the money after 5 years repaint again more better.

There are condition that might consider like maybe special car with special color then doing this kind of coating might worth to help keep the 2nd car value not drop so much. But if your ride is common as anyone on the road better just keep the money, the most normal car wax good enough.

white car needs more washing to keep looking nice... coating reduces dirt sticking and makes washing easier...

dunno your car care routine... what car... route/how bad chipping... disposable income etc etc... hard to recommend

you can always diy with cheap ceramic spray or ceramic wax... imho this is the bare minimum starting point... dont go with traditional polymer/wax as they attract oil n dirt...

if your existing car lots of rock chipping n you sadding then some ppf is helpful to reduce your stress n worries... dont need branded ones, <1k, change every 5 yrs... but remember white paint easy to touch up wink.gif

good luck

i recently purchase a white car also

applied coating and PPF

but make sure to wash it at least weekly

Negative side
Coating will attract water marks, but easier to remove
Your PPF will become blacken at the edge if you dont wash it properly, dirt and dust trapped there

BTW, if you got time go read the car user manual of paint surface car maintenance, if not mistaken most car manufacturer never really recommend or write must do all these expensive ppf coating. Only recommend do is normal wax & polish after certain period.

Wax original purpose is to protect the original paint, so if you see the dirt or oil mark outside at least it is doing its job and you can repolish and redo again the wax.

Those expensive stuff, if not take care also same and especially water spots even more obvious. Spend more money for coat also spend more time asking those coating supplier to remove the water spots.

Yes, if not why some higher range car they provide only sunshade (retractable) type in their rides.
Regarding rain x, if you buy original windscreen washer some already included with it and suppose to refill everytime the windscreen fluid is finish.

Spray and wipe with water coating everyday and wax every 3 months.
