Old Digi Inifite 100 user here, had this plan + 12 months contract of unlimited internet and hotspot for extra RM15, no FUP.

Contract is now finished and i can't find a single telco that offers the same as digi was without FUP barrier.

So what now? Any suggestions? cry.gif

pdanet. (android + windows )

or

pairVPN ( macos, windows, android )
both = solution to "hiding" hotspot usage.. = unlimited hotspot.

or

Umobile. their hotspot is biggest. but their network is rubbish.

So like, i dont have the hotspot plan right now, just unlimited internet, but i can use the app to be software side hotspot by hiding it?

Huh? how much internet do you use every month? More than 1TB?

If within 1TB, just get any phone line with minimal internet, then get UM/YES 5G broadband and use with a 5G mobile router.

Getting unlimited quota for self use is pretty much available on most telcos, but i wanted hotspot to be on the same so yeah.

also i was planning to have broadband since like last year, so right now only UM/YES have broadband?

i checked YES broadband they have the pocket size which is doable, but UM doesnt have pocket size.

YES and UM both have non contract 5g broadband for RM68... then you buy a 5G mobile router lor.

Im not so sure if YES have 5G pocket router. If non 5G then dont get YES because their 4G sucks.

maxis, celcomdigi also have but their plans are not so competitive and it might be bundled with a router with contract

yes and umobile have contract-less 5g plans for rm58 and rm68 monthly respectively (Yes 5G Wireless Broadband and U Home 5G)
yes limits you to 100gb if you use on 4g
umobile doesn't care how you use it

you can purchase your own smaller 5g router but it will cost quite a bit. 5g routers are not cheap
the portable yes one is probably their 4g plan, which would be slower

i found out that UM's broadband, U Home 5G SIM only plan, on the FAQ, it stated this

idk if this is real and actually working on normal phones, not only on modem/router. But if it does, boy i sure would go UM right away.

yeah you could, I think someone on the U Home 5G thread bought a cheap 5g phone to use for hotspot

but remember it's a data only plan, no calls or sms, just data

I dont mind the calls nor sms, if i have to go this route, i might as well have free calls and sms on my main phone, not my tablet since it's for entertainment only.

But still i'm open for suggestion and close the thread tonight

I would like to thank everyone for the suggestions posted here.

In conclusion, i will pick U Mobile U Home 5G due to
- testing new telco and their coverage after 4/5 years as digi user
- lesser price than monthly RM100/120 (with unlimited hotspot)
- no contract (this is interesting if shits doesnt go to according to plan)

So thank you again, and i will close the thread.
