Hi,

I usually live outside Malaysia and make a few trips a year lasting 1-2 weeks. I have been using Yoodo which let's me pay a basic $3/month and change the plan to increase internet & calls on their app whenever I need. With Yoodoo closing shop I'm struggling to find something similar. I went to Celcom, Maxis, Umobile & they don't seem to have anything good.

Looking for recommendations please, for a prepaid or postpaid that:

1) Has low maintenance fee to keep the line active
2) Can be linked to credit card or bank account for autodebit. I don't want the hassle of having to top up regularly.
3) Has a good app that I can increase internet quota or calls whenever I need to
4) Has good internet coverage and speed throughout Malaysia

Thank you!

XOX has a lot of Hidden TNC, but if you understand tha catches and think it's good for your needs, them you cango with them

For me, the cheapest options were about RM8/month for the following

Tunetalk Tahunan 99 (99 per year = roughly rm8.25 monthly, but they define 1 year as 360 days)
redONE Amazing8

both give you 2gb data, unlimited calls within their own network, and maybe a little extra (tunetalk gives a 50gb pool for specifically google maps, wechat, whatsapp)

tunetalk is prepaid so you could easily buy more data
redone is postpaid so eh

both use Celcom network, so the experience will probably be the same since yoodo also uses Celcom

EDIT: also, in theory CelcomDigi will absorb Yoodo customers and you can continue your current rm3 plan under them

If you liked Yoodo, you might want to try Digi. They’ve got a prepaid plan with low monthly fees and good coverage. You can set up auto top-ups with your credit card, and their app is pretty handy for managing your data and calls. U Mobile is another solid choice, especially if you go for their unlimited plan.
