refurbished HP notebooks either consumer or commercial will not have any warranty for HP MY as part numbers will be different. most of the refurbished notebooks either HP/toshiba/dell come from the US market and all of the models numbering from the other regions are different AND most or almost all of the notebooks are covered by local warranty only. to be able for warranty in malaysia the units must
1) have international warranty
2) part numbers must be the same as the local
to your question, HP MY will not entertain any claims for refurbished notebooks in malaysia.
HP MY can track the serial numbers of the foreign machine and trace back to the buyers and will take action to the reseller that selling parallel import machine. what kind of actions? it depends either it's legal or not. reseller with HP partnership caught selling parallel units will have their partnership revoked.
so people, buy wisely. just get these notebooks from the store. you are saving like prolly 20% but messed up prolly a year or 3 years warranty cuz some dude wanna earn a fast bucks? that's not a good investment at all. Invest for the real deal. that's my 2 cent for u lots.
