If the asking price is over 200k, how to sell ?

Subaru already not setting up booth at this year's Bangkok Motorshow, 2 mths later announce shutting down the Thailand plant. Signs that the sales of Subaru vehicles had dwindled to the state where having a SEA plant is unnecessary.

Subaru range so small and unappealing. Brz, xv, wrx all not nice.

Ini brand bring in as recon also not wangi.

Subaru Levorg until today never CKD the model anywhere in this world, only CBU from Japan.

Which SC? I am Xv owner until today no encounter any parts issue also.
If about warranty claim, for sure they will drag for sometime due to approval, but if you got money you can buy the parts at outside anytime.

CBU unit hard to sell unless there is fans for it

If you join Subaru group, most of them dont recommend the main PJ center. Other smaller distributor like Motion Beyond far more better in term of service and the shop owner is a Subaru fan car owner also.

engine reliability-mine die at 100k km, conrod bearing issue and need overhaul(not isolated case, very common). using branded oil and service at reliable workshop recommended by club members. nobody knows why it happen and no idea how to prevent it from happening again.so far subaru is the first car that i need to do overhaul, all other cars i drove pass 100k km until sell car also never overhaul. fc also not great. build quality also not great. recon from japan not ckd

My sister is driving the previous gen Forester and she also don't know about cars, but luckily i knew the mechanic which can fix Subaru so no issue for her.
Same as any rides before buying, get info who can fix the car first (outside specialist) and is the SC nearby supportive or not? Join in respective group like Subaru Xv Malaysia group in fb or forums and ask for info.

I am driving 2015 Xv until now with over 220k on meter now, if you ask me i can say it is quite reliable if you maintain and take care as usual.
Until today never encounter any serious engine or gearbox breakdown yet.
Only take note are tear & wear items like rear wheel bearing & lower arm bush change (which normally last around 100k)
During 200k only change the radiator cover, water pump/pipings, reseal the top valve rubber gasket.
FYI, this really varies/subjective to different person. As if you drive like a racer and abuse it, the wear & tear items will shorten the life span.

yes... but imho better not to buy a car that has inherent issues and known problems unless it is a 3rd car or project car... or you got a damn good price for it...

Need overhaul at 100k km, then will skip this brand at all. I spend rm6k repair back the CVT belt on previous gen HRV also thought wanna let go of it last time but since all other car for the budget are also cvt gb, then just use it for now.

Nowadays modern cars is not like those in 90's anything also simple and use similar oil & parts. So you will need specialist or proper mechanic to advice and help maintain. Even Axia my mechanic already encounter a lot of poor condition due to non-proper maintenance (Wrong, poor engine oil spec., spark plugs, mounting issue) given by roadside/tire shop mechanic. Until teruk then go find proper mechanic to diagnose/fix...

This brand as well as Hyundai being CBU, more expansive, just wait for used price for steal price. Inb4 Elantra current gen with 1.6L NA CVT gb at D segment price

i agree everything about having a good mechanic...

just saying if a car is well known for having lots of problems... why take the risk of buying it...

example rx7... i will buy it as a fun project car knowing it needs overhaul every xxx km... but i certainly won't get if for my girl working outstation....

Rx7/8 my mechanic got few customer, the main thing to maintain is to get the correct specification/oil grade for different engine type. Rotary engine apex seal cannot tolerate synthetic oil well and the engine itself design to lubricate the apex seal with engine oil. If you manage to get the original manual book from Mazda most recommend 5W-30/10W-30 mineral oil only. (It highlighted only mineral oil in the manual book)
My mechanic already seen quite a lot of rotary engine fail due to use of wrong type engine oil, some workshop will try sell fully synthetic is the best and any engine also can use.

and also add 2 stroke oil to petrol...

anyways, one day i may get a boxer engine... cheers...

Actually is a waste of money to add 2 stroke oil, as the engine already design to let engine oil lubricate the apex seal. Thus why Rotary engine need to always check the engine oil level as it is design to consume engine oil to prolong the apex seal life.
