Which SC? I am Xv owner until today no encounter any parts issue also.
If about warranty claim, for sure they will drag for sometime due to approval, but if you got money you can buy the parts at outside anytime.

CBU unit hard to sell unless there is fans for it

If you join Subaru group, most of them dont recommend the main PJ center. Other smaller distributor like Motion Beyond far more better in term of service and the shop owner is a Subaru fan car owner also.

engine reliability-mine die at 100k km, conrod bearing issue and need overhaul(not isolated case, very common). using branded oil and service at reliable workshop recommended by club members. nobody knows why it happen and no idea how to prevent it from happening again.so far subaru is the first car that i need to do overhaul, all other cars i drove pass 100k km until sell car also never overhaul. fc also not great. build quality also not great. recon from japan not ckd

My sister is driving the previous gen Forester and she also don't know about cars, but luckily i knew the mechanic which can fix Subaru so no issue for her.
Same as any rides before buying, get info who can fix the car first (outside specialist) and is the SC nearby supportive or not? Join in respective group like Subaru Xv Malaysia group in fb or forums and ask for info.

I am driving 2015 Xv until now with over 220k on meter now, if you ask me i can say it is quite reliable if you maintain and take care as usual.
Until today never encounter any serious engine or gearbox breakdown yet.
Only take note are tear & wear items like rear wheel bearing & lower arm bush change (which normally last around 100k)
During 200k only change the radiator cover, water pump/pipings, reseal the top valve rubber gasket.
FYI, this really varies/subjective to different person. As if you drive like a racer and abuse it, the wear & tear items will shorten the life span.

yes... but imho better not to buy a car that has inherent issues and known problems unless it is a 3rd car or project car... or you got a damn good price for it...
