I have Maxis on my main phone. So daily usage is not a problem. I also want to avoid turning on hotspot on my main device, to preserve battery.

My situation:

* I have a 2nd phone with 2 simcards on celcom xpax. The sim cards are just there to maintain the number.

* 1 of the sim card is attached to work whatsapp (group) which I have messages coming in periodically.

* Currently I buy the RM1 validity (each sim) every 49 days or so to extend the grace period of the sim for another 50 days.

Now I am moving around more often than being in the office, therefore I would like to get a data plan on 1 of the celcom sim card, without having to turn on the hotspot on my main phone. I don't need much data, just need to have whatsapp messages coming in. What plan would be best for me? 1 Celcom Sim has RM4 credit inside, so I don't mind porting out to another telco that has a 1 year validity + good enough data plan without too much of a cost. The other sim, I'll maintain with Celcom for now as it has about RM30+ credit which I don't want to waste by porting out.

The data plan can be as minimal as possible, just enough to receive whatsapp messages as I would still be on wifi 80% of the time.

Hotlink Pantas - RM30 for one year validity + RM10 for 5GB also 1 year validity.

No need to buy RM30 in one shot, just reload RM10.00 and get 30 days. Repeat for the next 2 months. After 3 months (90 days), you have RM30 to buy the 1 year validity. 15 months validity there for RM30.00 instead of the usual 12 months.

not sure what is the total price you pay for now.

I on xox mysiswa plus
RM39 for main line and Rm10 for sub line
come with 90GB data share, unlimited call and 100 SMS
as long as you turn on auto debit, you dont hv to worry about validity.
i not sure if auto debit will hv additional rebate as i just get mine not long ago

Is the RM39 billed monthly?

ya bill monthly. if your main line is expensive than this why not converting together.
previously my kid also on prepaid and keep on extending validity for my kid phone.
need to keep remember the date when it due. prepaid are more trouble as they hv money/ value validity and sim card validity...
end up, i convert 4 line (3 kid phone and 1 car entertainment sim) to xox and it bill monthly for just RM39+10+10+10.
with that, i dont hv to remember validity and worry of their data not enough as i need data to track my kid location 24/7 for their safety

Thank you. This will come in handy in the future. At the moment my main line is being paid by our company, so don't really want to disturb that one for now

then i suggest check on hotlink as they still offer myRahmah plan come with 6 month validity and 30GB data for RM30.
recently our Telecomunication Ministry plan to launch another Rahmah plan. hope it has better offer than current myrahmah plan


umobile and tunetalk just stop offering this package.

i jumped from celcom after they stopped doing it

XOX One Family really worth it... Im also using it. Much cheaper than maintaining my lines on Yoodo previously.

I went from having just 1 lines to having like 4-5lines, inserting them into multiple phones, tablet... no more hotspot... still cheaper than maintaining 2 postpaid line from big 2 by a mile. Even have 2 hotlink pantas as backup since 30 every year. Sometimes purposely reload to get those free RM3 or RM5 then accumulate few times to buy IQIYI yearly pass. Super worth...

mine gone since Jan 2024 (may due to different package cos i notice they hv several type of plan and sim) and i swap to Umobile after that... then recently i cant find in Umobile and switch to Hotlink...
end up feel so tired.. better go to XOX family plan or now XOX MySiswa Plus is way cheaper

hotlink pantas validity 365 days = RM30
+ 5GB data no expire = RM10

As long dont do speedtest or watch heavy video, data will last for many month

@stevenlee, quick check. I have 2 XOX prepaid with me. I check with the XOX dealers, they said I have to switch to other telco and then only can convert to XOX family plan. I feel very troublesome. Do you know better way to convert to family plan. Thank you.

I think u can direct use xox black app to do it

but I saw the option to change to family plan on my app

i hv no idea on this.
i guess you check few XoX dealer to better understand
