You can jailbreak using jailbreakme.com on a secure/password protected wifi network, I've done so myself. When you connect to the wifi network, just type in the password. Oh you do need to know the password obviously. Mac address filtering is something else of course. iPhone jailbreak/activation on youtube...

SIM unlocking (AnySIM) over wifi has been problematic in the past for me, so I had to improvise a bit.

To be on a safer side , just disable WEP/etc or so on your wifi network. Then unlock it and enable it back

no need user name or password, if your APN is correct it will be online lo.
please refer to page 1 for local EDGE setting.

My APN is empty. Everything on the EDGE setting is *empty*.

Yet I can still surf.

make sure u have the unlimited data package.. its kinda exp to be on edge

Means cannot receive calls ka?? That's a serious blow now isnt it.. One basic function you'd expect any phone to do Aiya.. itching to get one but if cannot even receive calls that's quite a problem..

I'd like to think of it this way:

Hmm funny tho isn't it.. to my knowledge iphone is the only phone that cannot receive calls right? But it's definitely a maxis problem eh..? So just a matter of time before we can use the iphone all over?

not only iphone la, LG prada also facing the same problem.
until retail unit came out then suddenly it can be use pulak.
suspected LG tune it firmware before selling the retail phone.
now iphone facing the same problem..

Just got in from HK, and all the way from KLIA to Damansara Perdana, had no problem with my supplementary maxis line, which is on 3G. Call ins were all ok, as we're getting numerous phonecalls all the way in, including Kota Damansara where we had dinner. Had a wierd scenario tho. On my main line, which is a sim card that I have not changed since I first got this line (circa 1997) could not even work with the phone. It registers the sim, asked me to unlock it (i.e. input my PIN) and all that as you would regularly, but it just would not get a signal. Doesn't even list the carrier line on the general settings. Happened all the way in HK itself.

The line is configured for 3G, blackberry, etc. Wierd huh? Maybe it's time to change the sim. But so far, it's on my wife's sim (the supp. line) and she's lovin' it. Giving her the choice now of keeping her new Blackberry Curve or the iPhone. ;-)

Can anyone recommend a few shops in KL selling reasonably priced accessories for iphone/ipod ? I am from Penang and not familiar with those in KL/PJ.

I am thinking of getting the car charger, headphone, jack adaptor, power socket/plug, FM modulator/charger etc.

We have Switch here and the range is not wide, I think their items are bit pricey.

i think thats not possible , download what btw?

such as pdf file or other documents? Coz if u use PDA u can download file.

hi there. i might have accidentaly deleted da VAR folder from ROOT.
Was in the middle of creating a var/root/media/PDF folder.
but each time i click on VAR link. its a short cut that links to Private/var.
Does anyone know how i can restore it back? im on 1.1.1

EDIT: All media content is gone. Contacts, photos, wallpapers, etc.
Phone can be started but very very laggy.
Can also access the phone via winscp. FOund out VAR folder in ROOT is still there. dont really know wat happened. it just crashed.

anyone have any idea if i do a restore it to 1.1.1 i have to go thru all da unlocking process all over again?

I had the LG prada a few mths back... and thr's never been an incoming call problem at all. I sold it for N95 cause LG dont work wit macs completely like a nokia... the contacts syncing on the prada is a friggin nightmare... and i'm not abt to input 700+ contacts manually... so my point it, the LG Prada never had any incoming call issues with Maxis...
