Just a question..where can I renew the Physical Driving license? I heard now everything went into digital and most of the post office not giving physical card anymore.
May I know which branch of pos office or JPJ still giving the physical card?? KL/Selangor

I went Putrajaya and ask for physical also.
They told me no longer issued unless you can prove that you need it, such as staying overseas, work visa etc. If just laymen then cannot.

Then I ask if want to drive international how? Tourist etc.
They say apply IDP.

That day I renew road tax using MyJPJ they asked me whether I want physical copy (pay extra)? I can't remember whether they'll post it to me or I have to go to their office to collect? Maybe they have the same option for license renewal? Try and see.

But we have ASEAN agreement allow us to use our driving license in countries like Singapore and Thailand, right?

Need to show proof that you are traveling overseas and need a physical license to rent a car, etc.

I last check with JPJ in Feb 2024. You need to bring your passport and flight booking details. Of course it'll cost money to get it. I've posted the details in the other renew driving license thread before.

When you renew on the MyJPJ app - If digital (without the physical card), you will get an RM5 discount. So technically, the card is RM5. If renew for 10 years, you will also get a 10% discount.

IDP isn’t valid without a physical driving license tho. Anyway I got my IDP and physical license renewed at JPJ PJ. No questions asked about physical license maybe cause I was renewing my IDP.

I went to JPJ at Shah Alam UTC just 2 weeks ago. Got my license renewed with a slip no hassle at all. Apa ni passport flight ticket rent car? So many bullshit online.

But I just tried the MyJPJ app, this is what they show.

Ok. Go UK use that laminated slip and see how.

The slip is not valid without a physical driving license (your expired one).

Good on you if you want to bring your IDP, expired driving license and renewal slip around.

The rest of us will opt with IDP and new driving license.

If you choose no, they will give you a useless RENEWAL SLIP, not the actual driving license.

This year I chose digital only because they gave RM5 discount.

We wanted the convenience of not needing to carry physical license, but they gave us the inconvenience of needing to go to JPJ office and pay RM20 if we want to drive in ASEAN. Aiyo.

Renewed for 10 yrs at pos last year, got a physical card. Ah Loke should give people the choice of digital license or physical card when renewing. The current style seems to be causing much troubles to many people.

I was lucky renewed last year, 10 yrs & got 1 yr discount (pay 9 yrs) AND got physical card with 10 yrs expiry.

I renewed my road tax using myJPJ few days ago. I wasn't asked whether I wanted physical copy, which I would have gladly accepted.

They force you to choose whether you want physical copy or not?

If you choose yes they'll only give you a renewal slip.

If you want to drive in other countries, you need to pay RM20 for physical license.

A flight itinerary or hotel booking will do, right ? or what else is needed ?

The current transport minister did everything right except for removing the physical lesen and road tax sticker as standard issue.
These 2 items should be issued by default and only those who don't want it, can decline it...stick with the e-stuff.

Saw the latest photo uploaded to JPJ PJ on google map.
Went to JPJ Selangor (Padang Jawa, Shah Alam) around 9.30am today (30/7/24) and gotten my physical card license.
Told the officer that I am travelling soon and need to drive overseas + license expiring.
The officer will ask if you brought the printed copy of your flight details.
No questions asked after showing printed copy which they will keep for their record.
Renewed for 10 years at RM270 (RM30 discount), no extra charge for getting physical copy (as shown in image "versi lama/old version (license card)"
The wait was not long, only about 30 minutes, shown in 2nd image is the queue number and wait time.
