In 2009 we replaced keyboard phone to touchscreen phone. In 2014, all phones are capable of replacing camera and slr.

Do u think in near future, foldable and flip screen phones will be the trend? Screen can be folded and can be twisted.

The flip and fold does not solve any pressing issues for a phone while making the mechanism more complicated than it is. Yes the screen size increases but do we actually use it? Anything bigger, we go for tablet.
Flip and fold to phones is like foldable roofs to cars... not a necessity.

Foldable is the future. If they can decrese the price for foldable it can replace the tablet.

the 1st few gen of foldable highlighted the big internal screen. it is full screen for apps and games or split screen use.

but for video content, i put side by side z fold 4 internal screen and s23 ultra in landscape mode, the video size is the same. internal screen can fullscreen but its cropped.

i think to truly be tablet replacement, they need to innovate still. thinking of the consumer level tri-fold design now still in prototype stage
