Hey guys. I just pre ordered 16 Pro Max too. Wanted to resist but couldn’t cause of the new camera control button + (finally!) LARGER screen! 🤩

What cases do you all plan to get ? The Beats hard case looks good but not sure how it will hold up against everyday use. 🫠

Need to ask case sifu andrewtst for guidance. ☺️

Still sporting physical SIMs on my Maxis lines. I guess nothing beats the convenience of quick-swapping between phones at anytime without going through the hassle of QR-code, etc. Will wait until the eSIM QR-codes becomes truly seamless.

Now I'm kind of leaning towards the Apple Silicone Case, Apple Clear Case and Beats Hard Case. All of them have a sapphire crystal button for the camera control part of the iPhone. Not sure if any 3rd party brands are able to do something similar. 🤔

Heard from my colleague that pre-ordered with Maxis through Maxis official website. Her order slip states 20th Sept onwards and is subject to stock availability, so she's not entirely sure if she can collect on 20th Sept or not.

Anyone can shed some light on this?

For me, it is. Haha. A larger screen truly makes a difference in everyday usage. And the camera control may seem gimmicky, but waiting for the two-stage camera shutter feature to give that real camera-esque feel.

Good advice. Will advice my colleague. Hopefully she can feign desperation well to the CS.

No laaaaaaa. Only upgrade when there is a good improvement.

The bezels in 16 Pro series are much thinner than 15 Pro series. So I would reckon the 6.9" Pro Max would feel just a tiny bit bigger than the 6.7" 15 Pro Max. Guess we will be able to tell by this Friday.

Finally had time to collect my iPhone 16 Pro Max Desert Titanium.

Hope you guys will get yours soon too, if you haven’t already!

Initial impressions:-

Size and Build Quality
6.9” size on 16 PM vs 6.7” size of 15 PM. The screen does feel a tad larger in a good way. But yet the feel in hand is almost the same as its predecessor, mainly due to the much thinner screen bezels/borders. Take note that the thinner borders may make certain screen protectors a tad difficult to install.

Also, on my unit, I feel that the micro blasted titanium finish on the 16 PM is just amazing and reeks of very high quality. The 15 PM titanium finish isn’t as refined.

Battery Life and Cooling Factor
So far the battery is holding up very well even when I was busy setting up the phone with apps etc. Heat also dissipates very quickly after heavy CPU-intensive tasks etc

Camera Control
So far am using a 3rd party (Uniq) case and the Camera Control button feels a bit recessed due to the case thickness. Hence, it may be difficult to press the button at times. There is no issue when using the phone caseless. I’m likely going to get an Apple case just to see how the sapphire button works in actual reality.


Last but not least, time to slowly migrate data from the 15 Pro Max to the 16 PM DT as I set up the iPhone from a clean slate.

Prepare to enjoy massive jump in battery performance. 😁

Indeed. And Natural Ti is the most resilient against noticeable scratches too.

Oh. Camera angle perspective saja. Haha. But it is noticeably bigger though, at least to me. ☺️

Haha. Actually, for an upgrade once a year of a device that you may use typically for many many hours per day, is very well worth the upgrade cost. 😇😇😇

Unless it’s some secondary gadget that you chuck aside and seldom use, then for sure I don’t recommend.

That’s where the fun is! The tinkering, transferring this and that. Embrace the joy in it. ☺️☺️☺️

Yeah. Most people would’ve gotten Desert cause it’s the ‘2024 iPhone color of the year’. But in actual fact their heart may say otherwise. 👀

So far I’ve just using the camera control button to adjust Exposure setting.

Honestly it helps a lot with photos especially when I prefer certain shots to be slightly underexposed to bring out the shadows. 😇

With the camera control button, exposure can be adjusted way much faster compared to using the on-screen tap and hold and slide, like in previous iPhones.

Agree! But I don’t know whether it’s placebo effect or not. 😁🫠

PBB and MBB both require ATM machine verification with ATM card. Very troublesome indeed if one changes devices often.

16 Pro Max sounds a tad clearer than 15 Pro Max to me. But I think 15 Pro Max has more bass (lower frequencies) and thus likely can go louder. Will need to do more tests to check further. Right now, just very initial impressions only.

Camera purpose you say.

Then you know what to do already…… 16…. Pro…. Max…. 🤣

Am using Hoda glass SP and so far so good. Heard from a shop that some of the brand ‘Amazing Thing’ glass SP for iPhone Pro series has issues. Maybe cause the bezels very thin this round, so not all glass SP makers can do it well.

The Apple Silicone cases have a coating that makes them smooth and nice to touch. However, the coating wears off over time and once the coating is gone, the case will feel really grippy and sticky (yuck!).

Guess the best cases from Apple are still the Apple Clear Case or the new Apple Beats hard cases

Am using the Uniq LifePro Extreme (I just took a photo of the box below) Build quality is superb all around. No sharp edges on the plastic etc. Fit is perfect as well. Is this the same hybrid case you bought? Maybe yours has a manufacturing defect, and probably need to claim warranty for it.

Actually this is quite true. I used my 15 Pro Max without a case for about a month or so. No scratches at all and it still looked brand new before I put it back into a case. We just need to have confidence in Apple’s shatterproof Ceramic Shield front and back glass panels, and also the Titanium frame. 💪🏼

Hahaha. Depends how often you use your phone on a daily basis. For anyone that uses the phone at least 5-6 hours per day, a yearly upgrade to ensure the best ‘quality of life’ experience is well worth every penny. ☺️

Hi Case sifu Andrewtst, just noticed that Casetify has the BioVeg leather series. Have you ordered? Finally I am keen on Casetify because of this case series. Haha.

Have been using such vegan leather cases by Uniq and Moft and they are honestly so much more durable and wear resistant compared to real leather cases.
