When you placed order, the ETA was 23rd Sept right? This year actually 1st time Apple Store deliver on launch day to Penang since iPhone 12 time (I ordered from Apple Store during that time and got it on launch day).

Check in your Apple Store app, there's a separate section for trade in in the same order. You need to decide whether you want to drop off or schedule for courier pickup

Can try to check 2 things for this

1) Settings > Apps > Messages > Text Message Forwarding
2) Setttings > Apple Account > iCloud > Saved to iCloud > Messages in iCloud
