Baseus no problem. I've got quite a few of their cables. Only disadvantage of this one is that it's USB2 but no matter if you're just getting it for charging.

Not really. iPhones should charge even with the most basic USB charge cables & dumbest chargers. I think his friend's charger is playing is safe and refusing to charge because it couldn't determine the cable type. It happens with my Baseus 100W PD when used with a dumb charge only cable.

I tested what I had on my table.

Remax USB-USBC Charge Cable is a dumb cable. Just GND & Voltage wires, no CC.
Jisulife Fan USBC2 Cable is USB2 cable. CC is wired. I couldn't find a more basic C-C charge cable.

Baseus 100W 4-port is 2 USB + 2 USBC (PD, QC, Samsung & Huawei.)
Apple 20W is Apple (PD 20W)

*all chargers have BC1.2 (USB Basic Charging)

So far I've used the ones that came with the enclosures. The thunderbolt 3 cables that came with Acasis tbt3 enclosures and the USB3 10G cable that came with an Orico 2230 USB3 enclosure.

The only hi-speed cable that I've ever bought was an Orico USB4 TBT3 240W 40Gbps C-C. It was cheap after discounts and seems to work OK. I've only ever tried it with mbam1 to mbam1 and the connection was Thunderbolt. The cable looks and feels well built.

What app do you all use to test external USBC SSD speed? I have the OWC one but it keeps crashing towards the end of the test so cannot see the result.

35W and above should be good enough. iirc Chargerlabs video showed max measured was 37W. I think ip16pm supports max PD 15V. At 3A, that'll be 45W hence the 45W certification seen at China's SIRIM.

Any bluetooth will be fine. If you have other Apple devices then can consider Apple's or Beats for better auto switching among the devices.

Personally I have AirPods 3 and AirPods Max.

Yup, recent AirPods Pro 2 order with engraving came from SG. As usual, CTO mba from CN. Stock should be from SG.

VPN Unlimited & Zerotier. Installed but less used is Nordvpn.

VPN Unlimited was USD20 lifetime during some Stacksocial sale. ZeroTier is free, just VPN back to my home. NordVPN also free if and when the owner remembers to renew his subscription.

Mine seems ok.
