Maybe you guys get bored with my trade-in fiasco with Apple but if you are interested to know, read on. laugh.gif

So, I told the CS Manager I have been dealing with since last week that I will be filing a case with the Malaysia Consumer Tribunal against Apple.

She called back and told me she understood my predicament and that it was the right thing to do because it was a significant sum of money. She told me there are other customers who are facing this issue as well, and they are all Malaysia-based customers. Some still haven't received the refund and theirs were completed before mine. She revealed that Apple contracted to a third-party merchant to process the money but it seems there is issue over there. So this merchant is now dealing with the banks to fix it. I think she mentioned the third party merchant but I forgot the name, it has F and V in it. sweat.gif

Since I will be travelling overseas today and she is ashamed that there is no ETA could be provided to me, hopefully when I return next week there is some good news. Nevertheless, if this is not resolved until I'm back, I will file a case against Apple.

She said Apple takes customers' complaint seriously and with my case lodged against them will definitely make an impact.

Any lazada or shopee deals tonight?

Btw for those upgraded from 15 to 16, any regrets?

To find out about the latest deals on Lazada and Shopee tonight, I recommend checking the following:

1. Lazada and Shopee Apps:

Check Notifications: Both apps often send push notifications about ongoing sales and flash deals.

Browse Categories: Look for sections like "Today's Deals," "Flash Sales," or "11.11 Sale" (if it's around that time).
Use Search Bar: Search for specific products and apply filters to find the best deals.

2. Official Websites:

Visit Lazada and Shopee's websites: They often have dedicated pages for ongoing promotions and sales.
Check Social Media: Follow their official social media accounts for real-time updates and exclusive deals.

3. Coupon Websites:

Use Coupon Websites: Websites like CupoNation Malaysia often have the latest promo codes and voucher codes for both platforms.

Remember:

Timing is Key: Flash deals and limited-time offers can sell out quickly, so be ready to act fast.
Read Terms and Conditions: Pay attention to the terms and conditions of any deals or promotions to avoid disappointment.
Use Payment Methods Wisely: Consider using credit cards or digital wallets that offer cashback or rewards on online purchases.

By following these tips, you can maximize your savings and find the best deals on Lazada and Shopee tonight.

The decision to upgrade from the iPhone 15 to the iPhone 16 depends on your individual needs and priorities.
While the iPhone 16 offers several improvements over its predecessor, including a new Action button, enhanced camera capabilities, and improved battery life, it's important to consider whether these features are worth the upgrade cost for you.

Here are some things to consider:

iPhone 16 Improvements:

Action button: This customizable button provides quick access to various functions, such as Siri, camera, flashlight, and more.

Camera: The iPhone 16 features a new ultrawide lens with a larger sensor, resulting in improved low-light performance and wider field of view.
Battery life: The iPhone 16 offers slightly better battery life than the iPhone 15, especially with the new A17 Bionic chip.
Performance: The A17 Bionic chip provides significant performance improvements over the A16 Bionic chip in the iPhone 15.

Factors to Consider:

Budget: The iPhone 16 is more expensive than the iPhone 15. Consider whether the additional cost is justified for the improvements.
Needs: If you're satisfied with the iPhone 15's performance and features, you may not need to upgrade. However, if you're a frequent photographer or prioritize battery life, the iPhone 16 could be a worthwhile investment.
Future-proofing: If you plan to keep your phone for several years, the iPhone 16's improved performance and features may be more future-proof than the iPhone 15.

Ultimately, the decision to upgrade is a personal one. If you're on the fence, it may be helpful to read reviews and comparisons of the two phones to make an informed decision.

The UGREEN 65W GaN Multi Travel Charger is generally well-regarded and considered a good choice for a fast charger. Here's why:

Pros:

Compact and Portable: Its small size makes it easy to carry in your bag or pocket.
Powerful Charging: Delivers 65W of power, allowing you to quickly charge your laptop or other devices.
Wide Compatibility: Supports various charging protocols like PD, QC, and Apple 20W PD, making it compatible with a range of devices.
Multiple Ports: Provides multiple ports for charging multiple devices simultaneously.
Affordable: Offers good value for the price.

Possible Considerations:

Brand Awareness: UGREEN might not be as well-known as some other brands, but they have a good reputation for quality products.
Check Specific Compatibility: While it supports various charging protocols, it's always a good idea to check if it's compatible with your specific devices.
Overall, based on the reviews and features, the UGREEN 65W GaN Multi Travel Charger seems like a good option. If you're looking for a reliable and affordable fast charger, it's worth considering.

For those coming from the last gen iphones (6.1") and upgraded to the 16 pro (6.3"), do you recognize these complaints from some users from reddit?

"iPhone 16 Pro screen is 0.2 inches larger than iPhone 15 Pro, but don’t expect to see more content. In fact, in many instances I see less content. Text in widgets is way too large, so I see shorter message previews in the mail widget, and I see fewer upcoming events in the calendar widget. Long podcast titles are cut off sooner in the podcast widget. I see fewer calls in call history in the phone app. There’s issues like this scattered all over the OS."

https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/1f...en_size_upgrade

https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/1f...nt_size_16_pro/

Sounds similar to the ipad mini 6 syndrome. With the change of the screen's real estate, Apple cannot make full use of it. Text size wise at least.
*
Im speculate this might be a software limitation, potentially fixable through future updates, while I may believe it reflects a deliberate design choice to prioritize readability over content density. Apple hasn’t addressed these complaints directly yet, leaving us hopeful for a more optimized UI in future iOS releases.

New iPhone/iPad still come with free 6months of iCloud+ subscription?

No sure if this applicable to Apple ID that without iCloud+ subscription before ?

What about Apple ID that just joined family sharing iCloud+ without subscription, eligible the free 6 months?
*
To get the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend checking Apple's official website or contacting their support directly. However, based on current information and past practices, here's what I can tell you:
New iPhone/iPad and iCloud+
* New Devices: It's common for Apple to offer a free trial of iCloud+ for a limited period (often 3 or 6 months) when you purchase a new iPhone or iPad. This is usually to introduce you to the benefits of iCloud+.
* Existing Apple ID: Whether you had an existing Apple ID with or without an iCloud+ subscription, you might be eligible for the free trial if you meet certain conditions, such as activating a new device.
* Family Sharing: If you've joined a Family Sharing group with an iCloud+ subscription, you typically don't get an additional free trial. However, you can benefit from the storage and features provided by the family plan.
Important Note: Apple's policies and offers can change over time. It's always best to consult the official Apple website or contact their support for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Good day,
Is there a need to put lens protection? Scare the lens being scratched when place the phone on table, any recommendations? Can use the those affordable brand like baseus, it cost around rm13
*
It’s always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your tech. The iPhone’s camera lenses are made of durable materials like sapphire crystal, which is pretty resistant to scratches. But everyday use and the occasional clumsy moment can still pose a risk.

Lens protectors can be a wise investment to maintain the pristine condition of your iPhone’s lenses, especially if you often place your phone on hard surfaces or carry it in pockets with keys and other objects.

**Here are a few recommendations:**
1. **Screen and Lens Protector Combo**: Some brands offer full protection kits that include screen protectors and lens covers.
2. **Independent Lens Protectors**: Look for high-quality, scratch-resistant, and easy-to-apply options that won't impact photo quality.
3. **Protective Cases with Raised Edges**: These cases ensure the lenses never touch any flat surface, even when your phone is placed face up or face down.

A little extra protection can go a long way in keeping your iPhone’s camera in top-notch condition!

### 1. Screen and Lens Protector Combo
These kits often come with a tempered glass or film for the screen and separate protective covers for the camera lenses. They provide comprehensive protection against scratches, impacts, and smudges.

### 2. Independent Lens Protectors
These are specifically designed for the camera lenses and are usually made from tempered glass or other scratch-resistant materials. They're easy to install and don’t interfere with the camera’s functionality or image quality. You can find lens protectors that have precise cutouts for each lens, ensuring perfect alignment.

### 3. Protective Cases with Raised Edges
Some protective cases are designed with raised edges around the camera lenses and screen. This means when you place your phone on a flat surface, the lenses and screen are slightly elevated, preventing direct contact. This can be a good all-around protection solution without adding separate layers to your phone.

### Installation Tips:
- **Clean the Lenses**: Ensure the lenses are clean and free from dust or fingerprints before applying any protector.
- **Alignment**: Proper alignment is crucial to avoid any part of the lens being uncovered or obstructed.
- **Avoid Bubbling**: Apply the protector slowly and press it down evenly to avoid bubbles that could affect the image quality.

Protecting your iPhone's lenses can extend the life and quality of your camera, ensuring you continue to capture sharp, clear photos without the worry of scratches or damage.

Just drop my iphone with apple silcone case for the first time n the edge of the silicone case scrapped. This is the first n last time i will buy apple silicone case alrdy. So expensive but the quality is worst than cheap case
*
I understand your frustration with the Apple silicone case. It's disappointing when a product, especially one that's relatively expensive, doesn't live up to expectations, particularly in terms of durability.

While Apple cases are often praised for their design and fit, some users have reported similar issues with the silicone cases, including chipping and cracking. It's possible that the material used in these cases might not be as robust as some would hope.

If you're looking for alternatives, there are many other reputable case manufacturers that offer durable and stylish options at a variety of price points. Some popular brands known for their protective cases include Otterbox, Spigen, and Casetify. These cases often incorporate advanced materials and designs to provide excellent protection against drops and impacts.

When choosing a case, consider factors such as the level of protection you need, your personal style, and your budget. It's also worth reading reviews from other users to get a sense of the real-world performance of different cases.

I hope this information helps you find a suitable replacement for the Apple silicone case.

Here are some advanced materials used in phone cases, offering enhanced protection and durability:

Aramid Fiber:
Known for its incredible strength and lightweight nature, aramid fiber is often used in bulletproof vests. In phone cases, it provides excellent impact resistance and a sleek, modern look.

Carbon Fiber:
This material is renowned for its high strength-to-weight ratio and heat resistance. Carbon fiber cases offer exceptional protection against drops and scratches while maintaining a slim profile.

Kevlar:
Another strong and lightweight material, Kevlar is known for its ability to absorb shock and dissipate energy. Kevlar cases provide robust protection for your phone

is it worthy to still buy 20W wall charger now?

anker one was selling at rm15 during 11.11 which i bought it..
wonder if i should keep it... becos i have some 18W chargers already also.. with some 20W one...
*
Yes, it's definitely worth buying a 20W wall charger.

A 20W charger is still a reliable and efficient choice for charging most modern smartphones, including iPhones. It offers a good balance of speed and safety, ensuring your device charges quickly without compromising its battery health.

While newer, faster charging technologies are emerging, a 20W charger remains a practical and cost-effective solution for many users. It's particularly useful for those who don't require the absolute fastest charging speeds or who have multiple devices to charge.

So, if you're in the market for a new charger and a 20W model fits your needs, it's a solid choice.

That's likely because their homegrown brands have become much more capable.
I was in Guangzhou few weeks ago, can see a lot of Huawei phones, especially the Tri-Fold XT.

Anyway back to iPhone 16, I still find the camera lacking for macro shots when compared to IP13PM (Where I'm upgrading from). The minimum focal distance is really a let down.
*
There are several reasons why you might not see many iPhones in China:

Rising Popularity of Domestic Brands: Chinese smartphone brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo have significantly improved in recent years, offering competitive features and prices. This has led to a shift in consumer preferences towards domestic brands.

Geopolitical Tensions:

The ongoing trade tensions between the US and China have created an atmosphere of nationalism and distrust. This has led some consumers to boycott foreign brands, including Apple.

Government Restrictions: There have been reports of government restrictions on the use of iPhones in certain government agencies and state-owned enterprises. While these restrictions are not widespread, they may have a limited impact on iPhone sales.

Price Factor: iPhones are generally more expensive than comparable smartphones from Chinese brands. This price difference can be a significant factor for budget-conscious consumers.

However, it's important to note that iPhones are still popular in China, especially among affluent consumers and those who value Apple's ecosystem and brand

You're right to be disappointed with the iPhone 16's macro capabilities compared to the 13 Pro Max. While the 16 offers a significant upgrade in many areas, the minimum focal distance for macro shots is indeed a step back. This limitation can make it challenging to capture the intricate details of smaller subjects.

Here are a few things to consider:

Ultra Wide Lens: The iPhone 16 uses its Ultra Wide lens for macro photography, which offers a wider field of view and a closer focusing distance compared to the main wide-angle lens. However, this also means that the effective focal length is longer, limiting the maximum magnification.

Digital Zoom: While the iPhone 16 can digitally zoom in on macro subjects, this can degrade image quality, especially in low-light conditions.

Third-Party Apps: Some third-party camera apps may offer additional macro capabilities or allow for more manual control over focus and exposure, potentially improving results.

Lighting Conditions: Proper lighting is crucial for macro photography. Ensure that your subject is well-lit to avoid noise and blurriness.

While the iPhone 16's macro capabilities may not be as impressive as the 13 Pro Max, it's still a capable device for capturing close-up shots of various subjects. By understanding its limitations and utilizing the available features effectively, you can still achieve satisfying results.

There's no guaranteed way to make Tim Cook read your email, but here are some tips that might increase the chances:

Be clear and concise: Clearly state the purpose of your email in the subject line and keep the body of the email brief and to the point.
Be respectful and professional: Address Tim Cook with respect and avoid using overly emotional or aggressive language.
Provide specific details: If you're emailing about a specific issue or problem, provide as much detail as possible.
Use a professional email address: Avoid using a personal or unprofessional email address.

Remember, Tim Cook is a busy person, so it's unlikely that he will personally read every email he receives. However, by following these tips, you can increase the chances that your email will be seen and considered by someone on his team.

actually, on average, each case would be used for how many days in a year for your case?

i mean given that you have let's say 100 cases, on average, each case would be around 3.3 days or something?
and do you really change them very often? just would like to understand.
because having 100 cases for the same phone is really out of this world, at least for me haha.
but good for the other forumers to see your review too! thumbup.gif

Changing phone cases every day is an interesting habit, but it's not uncommon. Some may think it is weird and dumb but very small number of people do it for various reasons:

Fashion and Style: They may want to express their daily mood, outfit, or occasion through their phone case.
Protection: Frequent changes can help keep the phone case clean and prevent wear and tear on the phone itself.
Variety: Simply enjoying the variety and novelty of different cases.

While it again might seem excessive to some, it's ultimately a personal choice. As long as it brings joy and doesn't negatively impact their life, it's fine.
