Unifi Plus Box

The HDMI and RCA plugs are too close together and I cannot insert both in. Need to trim HDMI and RCA plug sides by 2-3 mm.

a. Is it OK to trim/cut off the 2 side plastic coverings?
b. Other ways of solving this problem?

Thanks.

Go ahead, its just plastic.

Helps if you have a dremel or other such rotary tools.

Or just buy another cable. It's cheap.

My Tesco cables bought for 10 bucks still serving me well. And it is narrower.

I have checked the spare HDMI cables I have. All are the same width. Also checked the web, cannot gauge the width.

Thanks.

Just cut it off, if it becomes loose from the connector then use tape to tighten it back.

Good idea. But need to confirm the plastic casing is smaller than my current one.

I tried it with a pen knife. The plastic is softer than I expected. Cut off some of the plastic, tried it and could not fully insert the RCA plug. Cut some more and I exposed the metal casing inside! Ha. Used electrical tape to seal it. Later also cut off part of the RCA plug. Now I can fully insert both into the box.

Done.

Need help again.

Plugged in the UNIFI plus box
* HDMI to TV
* RCA to AVR

Volume from ACR is low even with AVR vol to the max. No good.

Plan this:
* HDMI to a splitter
* splitter to TV with HDMI
* splitter to AVR with RCA

Is there such a splitter? I checked the web and found only HDMI to 2 HDMI output.

Thanks.

Yes. But better if it is a HDMI RCA cable. Less box to work on.

Thanks.

This is different from what I saw in Shopee etc where the splitter goes to 2 monitors BUT only one monitor will have display and sound. This allows one to switch from monitor A to B without plugging in and out the HDMI. Not what I want.

Will check your link. My chinese is down the drain. Need to read it very slowly. Ha.
