Gambling in China is illegal under Chinese law

Gambling in China is illegal under Chinese law[1] and has been officially outlawed since the Communist Party took power in 1949.[2] Any form of gambling by Chinese citizens, including online-gambling, gambling overseas, opening casinos overseas to attract citizens of China as primary customers, is considered illegal.[3] In practice however, Chinese citizens participate in state-run lotteries, regularly travel to legal gambling centers overseas or in the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau and access gaming through offshore based proxy betting and online gambling companies.

I think they have a lottery.

Not sure if conducted by government or by private sector though

Imagine their special draw and the amount of punters they can get. Might be able to fund one squadron of planes in a a year

Ps. It's in the same article ts copy and pasted. State run lottery

Most casinos around the neighbouring countries n in the region feeds on Chinese gamblers n tourists.

It is illegal for Chinese to run casinos in the country n also overseas. It is also illegal to invite Chinese visitors too. However, more than 300 casinos in Southeast Asia have efforts to entice Chinese visitors n benefit tremendously from it.

Chinese gambling tourism is a segment itself. In a way, the Chinese ban n crackdown on gambling benefits greatly the casinos in the region. Money outflow is bad for China but good for its neighbours.

Middle Eastern countries also have the same issue. U go any casinos u see Middle Eastern people n they bet big money

physical gambling you need to go macau. it's quite strict now. you need to declare how much you bring in and out before entering.
there's also limit to that i think (this one im not sure)

they also banned junket from extending credit lines. (junket = people who invite the rich to the casino in return for commissions)
