Sounds really funny 😁 but on a serious note.. I notice many "bawah pokok" or petrol station independent car washes offering "Chemical Wash", or known as this "CB Wax/Wash".. I tried once on my previous car, and i feel it really stripped the coating of my car, although it really made the white car look super clean (as if already polished)...
And then right after rain, the car gets seriously dirty very fast (because the coating is gone, I think?).. So I think it's like a cycle, you'll keep having to wash the car frequently after the coating gets stripped due to the chemical wash.
Also, my mom kena cheated few years back, when she sent her white car to one of these independent petrol station car-wash. She asked for Polish+Wax.. Left it there in the morning. thought they'll need some time to polish.. Just 2-3 hours later they called and said it was ready.. She drove home and i realized they actually just did this Chemical/CB wash in her car too. She paid Rm100+ that time for the "Polish+Wax".. Damn.
Yeah, just wondering what you guys think of this "chemical wash" thing?
After those past experiences, whenever i send my current cars to cars to these car washes, I'll make sure they use regular car foam soap only. (Even then, I'm not sure what cheap soap they actually use)

Usually false marketing...something like those spray on wipe off waterless wash with wax...anything more than RM20 top up is not worth it...

i always wash my car with 'Water Wax' from so called "bawah pokok/cheap2" car wash.
so far now issue, the effect of so called 'water wax' stay on my windscreen for like forever now. last time i applied rainX is around few (2-5) years ago. Now the effect still there.
had no idea how the effect stay there. *Shrugg*
the overall effect 'water wax' on my car lasted around 1 month, obviously la not as good as those 'ratus/ribu' thingy, but it's a good as it can be for the price, as low as 15rm.

chemical wash is as it sounds la
its a very strong chemical that strips a lot of contaminants (but embedded ones still need to be clayed). suitable for cars that do not have a coating and/or very dirty.
last time brought a car that havent been washed for half a year, chemical wash really helped.

i use this 30rm waterwax /chemical wash when i want to diy polish my white cars. its good to remove stubborn stains and those teardrops stains. and when you pay 30rm, the washers puts in some extra efforts to clean the car.

Imo, chemical wash is just using really strong degreaser to melt all contaminant away which is cost effective and creates instant result to 'wow' people.
And yes, these type of chemical tend to strip/ mask your spray on coatings and they are extremely hard to rinse clean + will leave residue all over.. That's why you will notice your car gets dirtier faster and harder to clean.. Then you will get trapped in this never ending bad cycle.. Prolonged use of harsh chemicals over your paintwork will lead to clear coat failure.. I'd advise not to depend on these kinda chemical wash too often.
And for your mother's case, if not chemical wash then probably they used cleaner wax. Instead of harsh chemicals, cleaner wax utilizes fine abrasives to polish. Works like polish but a lot less aggressive..
