Dont ask my why, but I bought a new dash cam that has those fancy 4g thingy. Now have to find a affordable data plan. bangwall.gif

Currently using celcomdigi prepaid for a month, looks like monthly need to reload RM 30 to keep validity, really not keen on this. therefore looking for alternatives.

I have a number with Yoodo RM 15 for 6gb (used for ipcamera), I barely use to 2GB amonth. only more usage only if there are notifications etc. but now cannot register new line on yoodo already.

So far the dash cam, after about a month consumes around 3gb. So I would guess around 5 gb would be a safe amount to have.

Any recommendations or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Hotlink Pantas plan might be a good option in your case.

Get a Hotlink SIM (RM10, comes with RM5 credit) and change the plan to Pantas Plan (RM2 one off cost)
You can then purchase either 1GB for RM2, 2GB for RM4 or 5GB for RM10. All three options are valid for 1 year/365 days from the date of purchase (need to be in active period in order to use it.)

Reload RM10 (and above) will give you 30 days active period from the day of top up/reload. You can also purchase 1 year active period for RM30 shall you need it.

Wow, looks like its something I can consider.

Summary:
1, Data validity lasts 365 days, until exhausted then top-up.
2, Account validity - top-up RM 10, valid 30 for days.

might consider moving my yoodo to this plan. all those wasted data l biggrin.gif

for my IP camera card which is on yoodo, would it be advisable to let it "terminate" or transfer the number to new telco ? just using for data, no call or messaging. So I dont need to keep the no. Same question w/ the current celcomdigi in my car.

warning, onexox has a lot of messy hidden tnc, check the onexox thread

another consideration is tunetalk tahunan 99/200

rm99 or 200 per year (well, they define a year as 360 days)
roughly rm8 or 16 per month

2 or 10gb per month

Hmm.. . something like celcomdigi? RM 25 for 16gb but 30days validity need top-up RM 30?! confused.gif

If use data then no need send sms
The tnc to stay active is
- send 1 sms or
- call 1 number or
- use 1kb data
in every 90 days

Yeap, i always switch to unifi mob for a few mins and back, been doing that for a number of years. blush.gif

Tunetalk rm100 per year 2gb per month
Or rm200 for 10gb

thanks, 2gb wont be enough, so far from my testings it will hit under 3gb. But of course depends on the 'activity' so may be more or less. I would say around 5gb would be a safer limit.

then rm200/year for 10gb/month is a safe bet.

use hotlink pantas , every month do this same thing
topup RM10 validation 30day use the RM10 buy 5GB
repeat this step : topup RM10 then buy 5GB
until ur account got extra 30GB data then going next step
next step is : just topup RM10 for validation 30day until ur acc got RM60
then use the RM30 buy 365day validation , RM30 keep for incase data finish can buy , cause until 365day u topup no effect validation .
*
Do you mean that, during the next step, just top up, but not use the credit to buy data, accumulate till RM60 then purchase RM30 worth of data.

But monthly still going with RM10 top-up right, after the RM 30 data purchase right ?
