I recently secured a senior data analyst position based in Kuala Lumpur after working abroad for three years.
HR has asked me to initiate negotiations regarding the offer.
This is a CN company which doesn't have much employee in Malaysia.
Based on my research,
the salary range for similar positions on Glassdoor shows approximately RM 6,000 to RM 9,000.
Does this align with industry standards?
Anyone can share their salaries working as data analyst/swe/it related field in KL?

Yea if u trust everything from glassdoor, then you can really fly

All salary is subjective to your previous drawn salary and compared . You won't jump from 3k to 6k out of blue

Ask HR what’s their budget for the role. Don’t quote first

Go to linked/jobstreet, search the title and location set KL.

You can get the average salary for the title/years of experience in KL from there.

Do your market research and know your value.

Rules of thumb, company will not offer you higher than your expected. so always open with a big salary to nego.

Their budget was approximately rm10k per month plus a bonus,
and they claimed their offer was above the local market average.

put at least 10k, see how they react which normally will be either one of the following:

1. Sure, no problem
2. No way
3. Sure, but after probation or x amount of time
