QUOTE(EnergyAnalyst @ Jul 6 2024, 11:30 AM) This one is currently claimed to be most efficient EV. New Aegis LFP battery 192Wh/kg. > BYD blade battery version 1. A new more energy efficient integrated 11 in 1 car function control in a drive unit with overall of this system, including the car motor… to be just below 80kg…. Claimed range is 11.9kwh/100km…. With a range of approx 8.4km per 1kwh…. That means 1kwh of energy travel roughly the same distance with its ICE similar size suv X70. 😳😳😳 With fast charging outside (chargev/gentari) averaging out RM1.20-1.50 per kwh. The cost of charging outside with a fast charger is even cheaper than a fully subsidize RON95 RM2.05 per litre to run a comparable X70 petrol SUV This post has been edited by max_cavalera: Jul 7 2024, 11:50 AM |

![]() QUOTE GAC's NEV arm Aion begins production in Thailand By Qiu Quanlin in Guangzhou | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2024-07-19 16:35 GAC Aion, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, launched operation of its factory in Thailand on Wednesday. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn] GAC Aion, a new energy vehicle arm of the GAC Group, commenced operation of its Thailand factory on Wednesday, with the second-generation AION V, its first global model, rolling off the production lines in both China and Thailand. The smart factory, with relatively small scale but rapidly efficient production, supports the production of the company's second-generation AION V and AION Y Plus and multiple models, according to the company. The factory, which is highly intelligent and data-driven, applies big data, AI, IoT, visual and other advanced technologies to achieve 100 percent data interconnectivity with its base in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province. The factory will serve as GAC Aion's manufacturing base in Southeast Asia, continuing to provide global users with smart purely electric vehicles, the company said. Launching the operation of the Thai factory would help GAC Aion to expand its global presence, especially in Southeast Asia, according to the company. China's export of vehicles increased 30.5 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2024, to reach 2.793 million units, thanks to its strength in research and development, production and industrial chain in smart electric vehicle sector, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. GAC, one of the more prominent EV manufacturers in China, has announced its arrival in the Australian market with its Aion EV brand. At an electric mobility expo in Melbourne this week, the brand unveiled its first electric model, the Aion V, for the local market which it says it wants to bring to Australia in mid 2025. GAC is an acronym for Guangzhou Automobile Group Co, and it is one of the largest automakers in China. It also has a global presence in various markets, including right-hand-drive markets like Thailand. In 2023, the company produced over 2.5 million vehicles, making it a top-5 car maker in its home market of China. The Aion V is GAC’s global electric model and was announced in July this year with a starting price equivalent to less than $A28,000. Two Aion V electric SUVs were on showcase, allowing attendees to see the cars for the first time in Australia. And, despite the relatively low price, the interior of the electric SUVs features premium materials and has features such as the ability for the front seats to lay completely flat. There is also a large landscape display s screen for entertainment and a smaller screen behind the steering wheel to display key driver information. ![]() This SUV is based on the company’s AEP EV platform and comes in 4.6 metres in length, making it bigger than the BYD Atto 3 yet a bit shorter than the Tesla Model Y. With clever interior design, it feels very spacious on the inside and could offer a point of difference amongst SUVs in the same segment. On the drivetrain front, the Aion V is available globally with two motor options, featuring 150 and 165 kW of power, respectively. This post has been edited by EnergyAnalyst: Nov 6 2024, 09:10 PM |
