My barney is friendly with everyone he'll wag his tail with whoever he sees and gets overly excited when he sees children laugh.gif
GRs are not suppose to be guard dogs, just let him be la after all if we want guard dogs we wouldnt even consider a GR

My GR at hometown has got the same name as your GR laugh.gif
My goldie at hometown also same, got stranger come he'll lie down and ask for a belly scratch ohmy.gif
Imagine if a thief comes in, he'll be asking the thief to give him belly scratch laugh.gif

Shushu is same as keithkeat one - I seldom see him sleep when there is anybody around. He will be busy trying to follow and keep a eye on everybody. tongue.gif
Even if he is sleeping, the moment he hears a sound he will open his eyes. It is very very hard to catch him sleeping. Everytime we come down from upstairs, he is already at the bottom of the stairs waiting for you. Don't know why but he has been very alert since his puppy days.
As such, he is actually a good guard dog. laugh.gif

If on rare occasion that i find him sleeping, he didn't snore so far. smile.gif

Compare with kero, kero can sleep anytime and everywhere. laugh.gif And he snores very loudly for such a small size dog! sweat.gif

Yeah he is overly friendly, but then i really dont mind, cuz if i wanted a good guard dog it'll be a rott, shepard or chow.

Err sniff vcd is lab ?
Havent seen any GR in porn dvd sniffing operations woh

My dog dont even bark at dogs doh.gif
Other dogs bark at him he just ignores them laugh.gif
Strangers he will wag his tail
Sometimes i wonder whether barney consider himself a dog or a human

Mebbe your Shushu is play deprived ?
He gets his morning and evening walk everyday and most of the time he'll be tired, he'll sit like a roast pig watching me doing my stuff but as a puppy he does have his fair share of playfulness and naugtiness e.g nipping, jumping and i'd correct him straight away
As he is a large breed dog, its not fun to see a large breed overly excited dog jumping on some small kid or nipping away at them laugh.gif

Ahh no wonder, cant complain much since its free laugh.gif
If its with MKA cert and all then its a problem already, still its hard for an owner to let go of their dog once they bonded with the dog

I've posted some pictures a while back. I'm a big fan of golden retrievers. Here are mine (refer to first picture) - from left, Hunter the gentleman (6 yrs +), Muffin the princess (3 yrs +) and Sheriff the brat (2 yrs +). My friends say it's crazy to tell them apart, but I'm sure the retriever lovers here can easily tell who's who from the picture!

Sure miss them a lot since I left Malaysia.

PS: Muffin is a retriever mix.

I bring shushu for morning walk everyday, but he still has tons of energy left. laugh.gif
There is one time we brought him go swimming in KKB, he did sleep in the car on the journey back but the moment he reach home, he is already recharged. rclxub.gif I really don't know where he got all his energy from.
My vet said shushu is one of the most playful dog he has ever seen. I hope his playfulness will tone down when he gets older. smile.gif

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Hunter has more whitish fur on his head and big twinkling eyes. Muffin size is the smallest and slighty shorter fur and sheriff has darker fur, correct? tongue.gif
I really love Hunter's eyes!! It twinkles and look very kind and gentle.
Btw, muffin doesn't look like a retriever mix though.

You must be missing them a lot now. sad.gif
