hi shawn, congrats to have your first grs. are they bro and sis or from different parents? have they been vaccinated?esp their first jabs?
after they are vaccinated, they should not bath at least one week. 1) usually u bath them once a week. unless,if they get themselves dirty, you have to bath them and dry them fast. 2)as pups, they are born to be playful and active and attention seeking. don't manja them to the max or else, later when they are bigger, they don't want to eat their food or play. 3) about 3 months old till 1 yr old, they will grow and their body will change.it will look weird but don't worry. its normal. 4)u can stop them by giving them rubber toys. also, giving them treats la.u have to train them also so that they will be obedient and don't simply bite things. 5)start from young.show them where they are supposed to pee and poo. if they pee at the wrong place, just say NO and bring it to the designated area.same goes with poo. i hope this helps. i am sure the other forumers will help you too. this is so far,i've managed ben when he's a pup..he's now 1 year 3 months. |

QUOTE(Gilthoniel @ Nov 7 2010, 03:16 AM) Hey guys, hi there. you've got a very nice golden pup. congrats on your new pet. i had ben 2 yrs ago. i can consider myself lucky coz when ben peed in the house, when he saw me cleaning up his mess, it only takes him once to get it that he is in the wrong and never peed in the house again. that time onwards, he would call us to take him out to let him pee and poo. seems like this thread is pretty quiet... last post was from Oct 19! Anyway, we just got a goldie, named her Hazel... currently D2 of life in our house (she's 8 weeks and 3 days old) and trying pretty damn hard to potty train her. Problem is she pees almost always unexpectantly... we've put her crate facing the bathroom with the door open so that she will get used to the fact that she can sleep in the crate and eliminate on the bathroom floor... Can't take her out yet coz of incomplete vaccinations Just want to ask for your opinion about 1 thing; Where do you guys keep your goldie? Outside? I'm just worried about my goldie being poisoned, stolen, etc... Anyway, great to join the club [attachmentid=1872292] goldens are smart, they'll know when they made a mistake and try not to do it again. when ben was younger, i put him inside coz he was afraid of loud noises as he's not used to the environment yet and sleep in the room. once he's bigger, and more brave, we let him stay out for few nights and he is doing alright till now. i'm not worried bout him getting stolen coz he's got another companion, cross-mixed rottweiler with doberman. so both are doing fine together and he's a good guard dog as well. Added on November 10, 2010, 5:05 pm QUOTE(nkf @ Sep 4 2010, 12:16 PM) take her to the vet. i had the same experience till now. goldens are prone to this. coz they tend to use their front elbows to get up and scratch against cement floor will make it worse. i had ben on cream to put on both of his elbows till now. hope this helps. This post has been edited by insideurheaven: Nov 10 2010, 05:05 PM |

puppies love to drink water. i have the same problem like you. they are still young, don't know how to control their bladder so they tend to pee a lot. sternly say NO to her when she do something wrong or was about to do it. then she'll know when to stop the bad habit.
