Diagnosed with knee cap arthritis at the age of 32. Female with sedentary lifestyle (rare high impact games) of 58kg, 160cm which is slightly plump but not obese. I would love to ask for recommendations if anyone had tried prp for knees or exosome. I'm working in Penang and it has been hard to find a reliable doctor who provides alternative non invasive treatment. I went to one after googling and it feels like the doctor is just upselling his treatment that he is the best doctor in northern region but his clinic equipment does look very subpar and worries me. All his reviews are paid and recorded reviews. Would love to know if anyone has any recommendations. In worst case KL/selangor works for me as well. Thank you!

Backstory:
Visited a specialist in Sunway when there was a nagging pain first started on left knee and was brushed off with nothing since i'm still young, maybe just inflammation. My left knee started to have cracking sounds few months later and had MRI done in HSC, specialist detected knee cap has gone to stage 4 arthritis, apparently due to knee shaft is shallow hence my knee cap moves exceptionally a lot when I move. Advised to just do exercise since too young for surgery, implants does have a lifespan.

My both knees are now screwed and went to Penang Island Hospital for 3rd opinion and again the specialist dismissed me with no arthritis with xray done and too young to have arthristis. Currently having a hard time even with one step up and can't really exercise due to the pain and weight is piling. My 4th opinion was a normal clinic in Penang who provides prp/exosome treatment and from normal inspection states that my knees are both screwed but can recover with prp x maybe 4 sessions with lower recovery rate or 2x exosome treatment. Exosome cost up to 8 to 10k per knee. Prp probably 4k per knee

Have you tried mobithon advanced?.

maybe try for 1-3months first before embarking on a most costly or invasive theraphy.

also if you can get yourself a TENS+EMS equipment ( I bought mine from shopee) , might want to use it on your thigh and calf muscles... as the pain might prohibit you from using much of your muscles and then you would lose muscle as well on the legs which will end in a vicious cycle of lesser support on your knee..

mayb

Thanks for the suggestion, if I'm not mistaken that was the supplement provided the by specialist that diagnosed me with arthritis and took it for 2 months. It does not seem to help unfortunately. Oh, didn't realize TENS+EMS could help. Yeah, i do feel wobbly when I climb stairs these days but zero issue on leveled ground. Probably a prolonged time of not using the muscle for steps causing certain muscle weakness

U need to tighten the knees joint more harder, otherwise it will become 'O' shape knees

Thank you. Just bought an indoor bike as my last resort, went to prp doctor and they said prp wont help me due to no knee space for injection at the knee cap area.

How long does the pain relief effect of steroid injection last? And how many times can inject?
Steroid injection has osteolytic effect which can cause further damage to the joint. She only 32 years old, still got long way to go.

Based on her description, possible is Patellar femoral mal-tracking/instability problem. A trained physiotherapist might be able to help with this. It might take time to train the correct muscles, so patience is needed.

So depends on TS, is she looking to treat the pain? or to fix the problem?

If treat the pain, then go for pain killers, steroid injections. But remember these are temporary pain relief.

If want to fix the problem, go to a physiotherapy and follow the proper exercise protocol. Train the correct muscle that holds on to the patellar (since patellar is a sesamoid bone that is floating and fully dependant on the muscle for stability).

How to start? step by step

1. manage the inflammation first
a) can take antioxidant
b) take NSAID....

...when pain reduced, then

2. physiotherapy

....when muscle is stronger, then

3. then supplements to improve joint cartilage (does not matter what brand, as long as is original and buy from pharmacy)

4. continue to self exercise, have healthy lifestyle (you are solely responsible for your own health, not the doctors or physios or anyone)

This can be solve simply growth it back. My situation is like that .
