I have a Pensonic rice cooker I've been using for 3 years. It was gifted to a family member around 10 years ago, they never had a use so they passed it on to me when I needed one. I use it 3 to 4 times a week. The non stick at the base has almost completely peeled off despite never using rough sponge or metal utensil. I'm looking for a replacement rice cooker. What to get? I just need a basic rice cooker to cook rice. There are non stick, aluminium, ceramic, stainless steel pot. What's the pros and con of each? I'm considering this Panasonic model: https://www.panasonic.com/my/consumer/kitch...r/sr-jn105.htmlIt should be max 1.0L, but at least 0.6L

Still using old microcomputer Panasonic rice cooker already 7 year still no sign of coating tearing off, aluminum usually the rice is easier stick and become wasted , no experience on ceramic and stainless, but stainless material for cooking purpose very easy stick to pan if no experience on cooking
After use the pot i just fill water covered half after meal then soft sponge wipe and wash without extra tedious care is needed
I don't have any particular brand can recommend but all i can advice rice cooker with timer make your life easier especially for early morning, the given menu and function use or not depends on you for me i never use except timer
I'm still waiting my rice cooker rosak but still sangat degil i also plan to change new rice cooker 😂

Get any reputable brand with IH (Induction Heating). Tefal, Panasonic, Toshiba, Buffalo etc.
The non-stick/Teflon inner pot needs to be handled with care to avoid scratching off the coating. The stainless-steel inner pot gives you peace of mind because it has no 'harmful' coating, but it comes at a higher price point. The stainless-steel inner filter that claims to filter out extra starch and reduce sugar is just a gimmick.

I don't cook, but just recently bought one for my family and was told that the new stainless steel pot is better than aluminum in terms of durability.

Using tefal small rice cooker which can accommodate small size family. Been whacking the rice cooker for about 5 years.
No sign of wear off yet. Since I carefully wash the pot wall and maintain the rice cooker in good condition.

I guess if you wash the pot yourself and not leave it to a helper, the danger is somewhat lessened.... helpers may not exercise the same care and all they care about is to finish the job ASAP so they can flip through their facebook pages.

The reason TS said the coating is gone is because a little of it leeches out with every use. Over the years, you're just eating chemical coating. Get one that has a stainless steel pot. Don't use metal wire brush when cleaning and it can last many years. They're not that expensive nowadays.
