anyone went to any motor/auto show lately ? I wonder which lens should do better in such environment ? 135mm kits lens or 50mm lens ?
thanks.

btw, i dun have external flash. i not sure flash is necessary in that condition.

Are you using D80 with 18-135mm kit lens?

Well, for motorshow I would bring kit lens with my flash.

50mm good for low light but, working distance not good.

With kit lens you will need flash, but with builtin flash, dont think you can get good shots cause builtin flash not powerful enough.

You will also need to bump up ISO to around 800

For white balance... try to experiment between 3500K, 4500K and 5500K. Or else you might wanna do custom white balance.

Built-in flash is useable for medium range, but use fill-in flash. Direct flash wont do it. However, built-in wont be nice for closeups

I wonder does 50mm lens is good enough for motorshows? Will 17-50mm lens (kit lens lenght) will be the better option?

just bring along both. if u really wanna use ur kit lense but dont have any flashgun, make sure u use hi ISO. but it will produce noise. my advice is, borrow speedlight from somebody, SB600 should be fine. just my 2cents
