Anyone recommended good workhop for Lexus car in Penang? For service, repairs, parts etc. Other than the official Lexus centre as the price can be expensive

Most Toyota mechanic also can fix la de.. Lexus is damn easy compare to continentals.. The problem is parts unique to Lexus will still be damn expensive even for outside mechanic...

Yes. This. Find any good/reputable workshop for Toyota cars and you’ll be alright. Parts will be expensive unless you go for OEMs

Lexus very less got OEM, even aftermarket body parts from Taiwan also more expensive compare to normal Toyota.
Lexus only good thing is really reliability, but if any unique parts spoils the cost can even match or more expensive compare to similar continentals models.
Halfcut also very rare, as Lexus in Japan also less volume and most are sell out to oversea market as recon/used units.
The only advantage if you bought the lower range models like those using 4 cylinder 2.0T engine, aftermarket engine & gearbox spare part still consider plenty as it is shared with the previous gen Toyota Harrier.

I think the mechanical and engine bits...most foremans can handle.
Its those interior parts and trims that will cost quite a bit to procure.

Those lower range model using 4 cylinder engine most mechanic still can fix as similar to Toyota Harrier, V6 still some willing to do.
But once go up to hybrid models not many mechanic got the expertise to diagnose problems well and need experts.

Currently driving ES250.

Mainstream Lexus models like IS, ES, GS, CT, NX, RX usually can be fixed and serviced anywhere. Body parts replacement might require some time though.

2 liter turbo models have higher consumption and cost a bit more to maintain.

However, rare models like LX, LS, and the F models will require expertise.

When I'm done with the German contis, I would consider a Lexus for my next ride. Been admiring the NX350F (AZ20) for sometime already.

The 2 liter turbo if driven moderately does give better fuel consumption compare to those old N/A 2.4L~2.7L 4 cylinder engine it replace. Unless you always heavy foot down the paddle end then the advantage will be less.
