Hey guys

Wanna get some opinion regarding best arrangement of new tyre.

So one of the tyre of my ativa punctured. Have to change to a new tyre. For ativa, their spare tyre and rim is the same size unlike the typical black spare tyre.

One advice i received previously is that its best to change both tyre if you wanna change tyres because of the balancing and all that.

If that is not an option due to my limited budget, is it better to:

(Excluding the two front tyres, we have old tyre, spare tyre, new tyre)

A. Use old tyre and spare tyre and keep new tyre as new spare.

B. Use spare tyre and new tyre and keep old tyre as spare.

Milleage is approximately 1100km.

Thanks in advance

If the spare tyre are from same manufacture same tyre tread, replace that with your puncture. after all the mileage difference is only 1100km right? doubt there is much wear and tear. then buy 1 new to replace spare.

Yeah. The same brand. Apparently only bridgestone produces tyre for ativa and the sizing is a bit unique. There are no other options thats why its expensive apparenlty.

My opinion...... use the two new tyres on the car. Leave the spare tyre alone.

Planning to buy only one new tyre because can afford only one.

Currently using old tyre and spare tyre.

So not sure the new tyre will be kept as spare or replace with old tyre.

Not sure which is best for long term gain basically.

Like what lccy said above. Difference of 1100 KM is nothing for tyres that last 40 - 50K.

Use the new one and keep back the spare.

Or...you want cheaper option, buy a second hand tyre as spare.... Its a risk... but but but...life is a risk..... smile.gif

Yup. Will buy a new one indeed. Very hard to find reputable second hand seller in an area i'm not familiar with. Thanks for the feedback thumbup.gif

Damn.. If changing an Ativa tire also a burden, you need to evaluate your spending and also your car choice. Seen too many case like this nowadays, example X70 users also brag about nice big 18" 19" sport rim, when want change tires say no budget ask got cheapo tire replacement or not.  doh.gif

Before you buy a car, you at least need to do some research like these basic maintenance, usually i will check and ask around before getting 1 so i can prepare upwards.

Previous car is also 17inch but it was roughly 320 per tayar for toyo so wasnt a problem to change both tyres. Didnt know ativa can go till 400. Again, learning experience that not all 17inch are the same.

Not sure related or not but at the same time broke my phone screen and was a costly repair as well. A series of unfortunate events.
