Hi all,

I'm looking into getting the reolink video doorbell. Initially i thought of just getting the poe version but the wiring would be much of an hassle. Decided to go with wifi (not ideal, but sweat.gif ). The specs on the doorbell says 12-24VAC 50/60Hz or DC 24V. Any idea how I can achieve the 12-24VAC 50/60Hz power supply from existing wiring? 24V DC is doable but i feel inside of the wall will be messy.

Anyone has installed the same doorbell?

Wifi version will have messy wiring, it's just a matter of how messy you find it acceptable. You will need a 24V / 12V AC relay / transformer, or use a 24V DC adapter, perhaps you can use the cavity in your mailbox to do the wiring if you're in a landed dwelling. For condos perhaps you can place an enclosed shelf underneath or on top of the doorbell to hide the wiring, doubling as shelving. Just be careful to not using wooden shelving to prevent fires.

This is why I went with the POE version, just a single wire and stable connection.

Also a suggestion, here's a rain cover that can be 3D printed. Must have in our thunderstorms (if you're in a landed dwelling)

Really would like to go the poe route. called the technician and looking to get an estimate on how much would it cost.

For stepping down the voltage, do you think something like this would be okay? this steps it down to 24V DC.
LED Driver 1
LED Driver 2

Else, I would likely need to get this Doorbell chime with transformer and use it to power the doorbell.

Thanks for the 3D printing link. Can I know if you printed your own or used a service to print it?

Thank you.
